    those of you with ink/artists
I am wanting to get a tattoo to symbolize a change I went through in my life. I at one point had anger problems and have recently finished seeing a therapist and feel like a new person. I want to get a tattoo that shows some sort of demon or devil crawling out of my skin from inside of me. Ya know, something to show the evil/bad leaving my body. Does anyone have something similar or are there any artists out there who could draw something up? Also, if you have tats of demons or devils, please post the pics so I can hopefully find something I like. I would be willing to pay to have something drawn.

Any chance of getting a pic? I was hoping for something like that.

    I was thinking of...

some sort of real evil looking devil coming out of a hole face first with his claws ripped through the skin on either side sort of like he is crawling out and the hole jagged shapes

You would be better talking to whomever is going to do the tattoo for you...If you find a good one they will be able to draw something for you and you could look through their books and previous work for ideas to help them.

This way you get the exact image you want and by explaining to them what you want and why they can help add the details that will bring out the emotion.

i think the shop i go to only charges like $40 to draw up a new design for you. very worth it for an original and personal tat that is gonna be with you the rest of your life!

I added another image in my post...check that one out. I found both via a quick google search for demon tattoo's. Like I said as the artist to draw something up for you that way you get what you want. :)

The only thing I don't like about the first one is it's a bit too "alien" looking for me, not quite as demonic.

You could also try looking for demons in medieval artwork or in that time period.

Tim have you thought about who you are going to get to do the tat for you? I was just wondering because Electric Expressions in Kenner does nice work and I am pretty sure they could draw up something very cool for you. Or you could look up Doc Don Tattoo. He has been doing tattoos for a long time and I know that someone in his shop could draw a design for you.

Electric expressions is where I planned on going. A bunch of my friends went there and got tattoos and loved the place. Do you have any experience with EE or just heresay?

One of my ex's went there and a friend of mine went there and got great work. I don't remember who did the tats. It was a long while ago.

Paul Booth would be the man to have do something like that if you can save up enough money, travel to get it and wait months and months for an appointment. Darrin White does my black and gray work, and he travels to Tennesee for guest spots. He would do a hell of a job with it. Here's some of his portrait work.

Richard Hart at Atomic Tattoo in Baton Rouge, Luisiana does nice work and is close to you. Here is one I found that I like.

I don't have any pics of the actual tattoo (and no access to a digi cam right now), but I have this done on my right arm. The tattoo looks a bit more realistic though.

Last week I had a devil chick done on my left calf and I'm going in tomarrow morning to have the angel done on the other calf. Can't wait!

i haven't read this thread... but here's my two cents.

when we get tats done we take in what we sorta kinda want and our artist makes it his own. no extra charge, it's just what he does.

so... this site has some cool stuff in it... as does the second site if you put in the search engine what you are looking for. find the demon face you want and they can create the rest for ya!

BUT BEWARE not all tattoo artists are good at what they do. be sure to see some of their work first!!!

Too bad you can't come up to Buffalo for a visit. My fiancee does great tattoo work. I don't think he'd be willing to draw for someone else to tattoo though.
I would be careful about taking someone's design over the internet! Some people are very proprietary over their tattoo design and do not want something that another person has, or for someone to take their idea!

    jen,

anyone who posts their tat in a magazine or over the internet knows that their design may be used by another person. it's just a fact of life.

most artists will however change it up so the person getting tattooed gets their own "version" of the tat. ;)
