Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
:8: No worries Mike! lol You had me confused for a sec! :rolleye2:
Ummm.... we're still getting used to one another......... She's defiantly not hesitant to let her aggressive side show.... But I'm hoping that one day she'll be tolerant of me handling her etc... I've also heard that they are more aggressive as babies... So we'll see! lol
& Thank you Earl and JO!!!!!
She is bye far one of the most intriguing snakes I've ever owned...

It took me some time to get mine settled down. About 4 months. He isn't quick to bite but there were moments I thought a hit was coming.
I found that keeping the lights in the room very low when handling kept him calm. That seemed to help him out the most.
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
She is just an amazing blood . . .

Thanks for the tip!! I'll defiantly give that a shot!!! :)
& Thank you Alice!
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
She looks great!
I occasionally get tempted to get a brogersmai, but I just can't see getting another short tail that isn't a curtus or a sarawak locality breitensteini.
I'd love to breed some short tails/bloods, but i can't do that if i don't buy another one to go with what i've got :P
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
Laura, what an absolutely gorgeous snake! I'm SO envious! Is she a "Tracy Special?" :D
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!

Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!

I love it when snakes do that, but it still freaks me out a little. I keep waiting to be bit on the nose. :P I think I would be especially paranoid with a Blood staring me down. :omg:

Hahaha! Yea.... She defiantly is one that demands respect! :P Everything I've read about their nature, and what I have been told...and from what I'm learning from her...it seems that "Warning sighns" that a Boa or BP would display, is just a natural behaviour for them?!?! Don't know if I'm phrasing that correctly. If my Guyana BCC or one of my BP's looked at me dead on and hissed.... I would causiously rearrange their positioning.... She seems to almost talk??? I'm not doing the best job explaining what I mean.... lol
Any additional insight into these amazing animals is very welcome! :)

Well kinda. Each snake has their own personality, mine isn't really a lap snake, but he isn't mean or nasty either. It just took me some time to understand his body language and know when he is bluffing and when he means business. That's the beauty of the whole experience, you learn about the breed then you get one in your home and they just blow you away. Understanding their shy and defensive behavior is just the beginning. :)
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
Thanks Earl ! I'm seriously in love with her! And I think some days she thinks I'm ok! :P
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
I'm actually a bit jealous because yours is more red than mine but you see....that works out rather well since mine is a male and he is irrestible to his lady friends. His yellowish patterns make the girls swoon! There is no way Sonja can resist his charms.
His name is The Duke!
Sorry I'm just being silly. :rolleye2:
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
LOL! :P Have you posted pix of "The Duke" before?!?!? If not, grab your camera! :D I'd love to see him!
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
Yup The Duke is posted just a few threads down "a day on the green for the duke". :)
Re: Meet Sonja! du=no no!
like the 4th pics. The eyes seems be dialating. sweet.
