    BP Bath
SO say your BP poops in his hide and of course he won't leave his hide so he gets it on him. What are the best procedures for cleaning so as to prevent scale rot or something?

fill up bath tub with an inch of warm water...watch your snake swim around...then take him out and dry.

Do they like to have baths like this? Do they like swimming or is it not fun for them and just to clean them off? Just wondering

No it's not fun for them and isn't necessary unless the snake has stuck shed or needs rehydrating(long trip, questionable background, etc). If my snakes are dirty and lounged around in their wee/poo, they get wiped down with a chlorhexidine-sprayed paper towel. Nice and clean :)

I gave mine a bath a couple of days before he shed. He seemed to like it. He actually went completely under the water a few times (10-30 seconds) and swam around. Never tried to get out.

I've never given him a bath before, I just noticed his eyes had come out of the "blue" stage and I thought I'd try it.

I have a few who enjoy going into the water - they may be the wierdos of the group but there are always black sheep of any species! I know some of us have balls who think they are boas :rolleyes:I would say Give the bathtub a shot - you may practically be able to hear them "screech!" with horror as they qucikly find the nearest escape route, or you may find them casually swim around, take a soak, and chill in there for a while.

Mine definitely falls into the "casually swim around, take a soak, and chill in there for a while" category.

Does anyone think giving a warm bath will help them go poo poo??
I tried last night but she didn't go.
I think she might be constipated. Not positive though.
I tried to feel for it but I couldn't really tell.

I only "shower" my BP when he smells. I usually turn on the faucet (it has a spray head) in the sink and move him back and forth under the water. He has never squirmed, I think that he likes it. I have only done it twice.
