Where can I buy PaM?
Provent-a-Mite, that is.
I hope I posted this in the right section...this IS related to the care/health of my current ball pythons.
I'm trying to find a good place to purchase PaM. A place that has a good shipping time. Someone (not on these forums) directed me to a website (which i don't remember the name of) that says shipping takes 2-3 weeks. That wouldn't be a problem, but I was hoping to maybe get it sooner.
I am planning on acquiring another ball python. One thing I have never done is used PaM to provent a mite infestation. I have been lucky not to have one. I have done proper quarantine procedures, the whole vet visit-thing, but have never been concerned about a mite infestation. That is completely stupid of me, and I would rather not acquire any more snakes without the PaM. I feel guilty, but from now on, I'm taking every precaution necessary to keep my established snakes healthy, and ensure any future snakes are healthy and parasite-free.
I am sorry if websites have already been posted in other mite threads, but the ones that I read through only explained how to use it, what it does, how often to use it, etc. Where might I find it, online? I thought the maker(s) had their own website, but I can't find that, either!! Any site suggestions you make, have you ordered from them? And how long did it take to get to you? Price is not much of a concern, so don't worry about finding the better deals.
Thanks so much, in advance! :sunny:

Re: Where can I buy PaM?
Thank you!
That's all I needed. :)
I feel like such a terrible snake mom for not pre-treating for mites. :( I realize that they're fairly easy to spot (especially since all newbies are taken to the vet not long after they arrive here), but I just don't know what I'd do if I introduced them into my established collection.
Again, thanks a bunch!

Keep in mind that while PAM is a great mite treatment (and pre-treatment) new snakes can carry other nasties too so proper quarantine practices are a MUST and will go even further in keeping mites (and anything else) out of your established colony. :D

Re: Where can I buy PaM?
Go to WAL MART and get some EQUATE BEDDING SPRAY for head lice. It has the same stuff that provent a mite does and works great. Plus it will save you 10-15 bucks a can.

Yes, definitely! Thanks for the reminder, of course. :) I am SO paranoid about the health of my animals, it's kind of obsessive...I think I need to join a support group for this, so if there is one, let me know! *lol* I would never skip quarantine. I have limited space here, but I work with what I have and any newcomers, be it furred or scaled (i don't do feathered variety. ups to whoever does, but they are better to just look at outside or at other people's houses, not for me!!), are handled like they're already contagious until they're cleared by the vet and my own quarantine period is through.
And those of you recommending other things...please DO NOT. I do not want a debate. I was simply asking where I could purchase Provent-a-Mite, specifically. Let's keep it peaceful, or I'm going to beg for this thread to be removed or locked. ;) No drama llamas are welcome here, sorry. :D
