Is the screen top covered with aluminum foil yet? If not, do that to start. Then i would put a bigger water dish in there with him. Should work for you. Or pick yourself up a rubbermaid tub from target.

Duct tape the aluminum to the top, i would leave like a third of the screen un taped, for the heat lamp or whatever. You should see a huge difference in your humidity. What are you using to measure temps/humidity???

You should only cover about 75% of the screen top, otherwise he'd get no air *gasp*

Thats low man. Try putting the heat lamp over the side with the heat mat. If you can get that side over 90 you should be good, ambient temp should follow to 80+. As far as humidity i would try a bigger water bowl with a wider surface area you know. So that way more evaporation. Let me know man.

Put the foil on first, then use duct tape on the outside of the screen lid to secure the foil. It's waaay easy!

I know they enjoy thermoregulation. What are your temps/humidity at now?

Thats awesome man, especially seeing him drinking. Just curious though, do you have a thermostat controlling the heat mat? Also maybe a seperate tstat or rheostat for the heat lamp. This way you will have complete control of the enclosure, all this = super happy BP, and super happy jeriberi. Anyway i hope he pops off a complete shed for you buddy :colbert2:

    Hi,

Some will eat while they are shedding and some will not. I'd try it but don't be too surprised if it is refused.

Just make plans for disposal of the uneaten food item just in case.:)

    Hi,

Yeah, if he doesn't eat and you feed live then you get a pet mouse - but it needs to be cared for correctly even if it is only for one week. You'd be amazed how many people don't think of that till they suddenly have one and realise they don't have anything to keep it on or feed it with.

Most people eventually get into the habit of keeping a spare critter cage lying around with water bottle, bedding etc against occasions such as these.
