Re: a monumental day for me!
tanks! I wanted something that was both good in the snow/mud, and also small.. it is So easy to maneuver and get into tight places with it. :) i always liked them, but i got in to test-drive it and it felt like slipping on an old, comfy pair of gloves!
Re: a monumental day for me!
Here are some actual pics of it.. sorry that they are so bad (taken by my camera off of my phone.)

nice jeep gin. I was looking for one to play with but then I got involved with snakes. The rest is history.
Re: a monumental day for me!
yep, I have one also....it's a '97 though :)
they're so fun to drive, plus you get the 'Jeep Wave' all the time!
Re: a monumental day for me!
Sweet Gin.. I have two jeeps as work suvs but mine are older their 1974 cj7 army addition..
Nothing beats seeing a country girl in Jeep in the summer time.. I hope you enjoy it ....and yea like some one else said.. Skyjacker 3" lift and off road bush gaurds and you'll be ready to rock the block..
I love it.
Re: a monumental day for me!
Gin,
Very nice. I love jeeps. I have a CJ-7 1979. It is lifted with 33" tires. I will take some pictures. Jeep owners are like a cult. Every time you pass a jeep we wave at each other.. you will see what I am talking about.
congrats on your first Jeep... they are addictive.
Re: a monumental day for me!
I have modified mine a lot since I use it mainly for off-road recreation.
I love that they are so easy to work on!
if you are using it mainly to get from point A to point B, skip the big tires and get yourself a nice flip-back soft top and mirror relocation brackets. Take the doors off and enjoy the summer! WOOOOHOOOO!
it's been 85 degrees here all week and wouldn't ya know it but my jeep is yet again broken after a wheeling trip I did a couple weeks ago :(
Re: a monumental day for me!
Here are some much better shots after I drove it today. It was a "long" 30-miile journey from dealership home, and i was So nervous since I am a new driver and all (at age 26..) We took the top off for a short trip to town (it was raining earlier, plus I had to get the top home somehow!) Mark loves it; he loves CJs and wants one to restore someday, but in the meantime this is a great daily driver for me that we can have some fun with :)
I was shocked really at how uniquely they handle. I mean, I knew that it was neither a long pickup nor a road-hugger car, but it just feels awesome.. I do have to practice a little at handling, but my commute to work is only 12 minutes one way.
I have only ever ridden in a) a half-restored CJ, and b) my uncle's horrific rattletrap wrangler that he had years back; I was afraid of a discomforting ride. but really, it feels secure and comfier to drive than I thought, and I did not even bother test driving the used pickups and cherokees!
One thing about me, is I like to have a vehicle I can fiddle with.. it is almost like it fits hand in hand with the atv and tractor that I use.
Here she goes! Please post your Jeeps, others, if you got them! FMommy, I saw yours in that Auto thread, and it looks rockin; great driving skills too!
