eldest daughter is getting married

i got a phone call yesterday morning... my eldest daughter is getting married.

she's only 20 and this is her first boyfriend... they've been going out almost 2 years and been living together since november...

but gosh darn it i'm going to be 100% supportive of her and her choice, after all she is an adult now... it's her life and she gets to live it!

i took her a HUGE bouquet of flowers into her work yesterday to congratulate her and see her rock... err i mean ring. white gold - over a carat solitaire diamond. very tasteful and looks lovely on her hand.

they are going to elope... plan on getting married in cancun on their vacation is august or possibly beforehand. i know i got married quick when i did it... didn't see the point in taking my time so she comes by this naturally :giggle:

so... here's to my eldest... *looking for something other than coffee to toast with*

*only sees actual toast*

Your support will mean worlds to her regardless of if your think its a good thing or not..

she means the world to me and i remember back over the last 20+ years of my life... i certainly didn't always have the support of others in my choices... but they were my choice to make.

this one is hers.

i know... on a beach in cancun... my idea of romantic!

he took her up to the top of grouse mountain to the restaurant... gorgeous view, great fancy restaurant... at the end of the meal he said, "well, you cook good, clean real well... wanna get married?" LOL - he's a comedian all the time :giggle:

she knew it was coming just wasn't sure when. he had the ring for two weeks waiting for the right weather so they'd have a gorgeous view... ;)

oh and after she told me the story i said, "so what did you say?" heehee... she screamed into the phone "I SAID YES!"

Congrats sweetie! I know this is a huge step for your girl and she's pretty young and all that, we mom's worry, but you're doing the right thing giving her all your love, support and best wishes. Big hugs, much love and many congrats to your whole family!

glad to hear it cause i was told tonight that they plan on starting a family soon. of course she also mentioned that she turns 21 this year and wants to drink her way through the states LOL so i figure since we live in canada... that should give me a little bit of time to get used to the idea :P

Well best she gets that out of her system first before the babies come and life changes LOL.

Quite good.. still a few things that need deposit money for. We basically have the venue, the justice of peace, and my dress.. the cake, a photographer, tuxes, and this is the best part: my mom and sister are in charge of the shower, not me :) But we have more to do.. limo, dj, we are working on those. We are staying in a hotel the night of, and taking a honeymoon when the snow is flying :)

It will mean the world to her to have your support....I got engaged at 18. Even though we were planning to wait until after college to actually do it, my mom wasn't real thrilled. She still gave me her best wishes and supported me, which ment so much, even though I knew she wasn't fond of the idea. Turns out, she was right, and we broke it off, but I will always remember that she supported me no matter what, and that's what I remember most from all of that.
