Re: cinny mini female
Very pretty baby and congrats!
Does anyone know - is this a common practice, that I wasn't aware of? For the big breeders to sell non-started animals that they've bred themselves at shows?
Sort of disappointing to me that they would.

I have seen this on more than one occassion. I would hope that it would only be sold to someone who knows what they are doing.
And in this case, it was Blake, so we should have no worries. Blake can handle it.
BTW, nice cinny Blake!

Second VERY nice little bp
And that seems to be Clarks m.o as of late it's all about the money and nevermind the animal. Sad!

Re: cinny mini female
Animal instincts just amaze me. At 4 days old and already knows to get in a ball. It is just amazing even dogs and cats have traits like these...they just seem to know what to do from birth. I love animals.

No it's not common, but Bob has always seemed to think he's in a class all his own and can do any old thing he wants to just because he's been around so long. He's also had eggs hatching on his table at the Chicago show, and has been know for selling baby nile crocodilles to anyone with the money.
At 4 days old I doubt that snake has even had it's first shed yet. It'll probably be fine, but I hope you got a guarantee.

Re: cinny mini female
Congrats Blake!!!!! That Mini Cini is a DOLLLLL!
As for the baby.... this is purely a question that popped into my head-I'm not forming an opinion either way.... (here's the but)... BUT, don't they ship babies from Africa at that age??? :confuzd:

Yes they do. I've received lots like this myself and anyone else who has bought CH lots has probably gotten the same thing.... However... The odds are good that you can also expect to lose a few of them. I think that most people who buy lots understand this. This expectation is reflected in the price.
To sell a CBB morph worth several hundred dollars like this I think is dicey at best. Again, the snake will probably be fine. However there is no way that baby could be considered established and I hope the price that was paid relected this.

laura,
just cause some do it, doesn't make it in the best interest of the snake.

Re: cinny mini female
Thanks mpenn, I appreciate that!
The price was certainly below that of other cinny females that I've seen, but I haven't been able to compare to other '07 female cinnies yet... So I'm not really sure, but I am hoping for the best, and like others have said before, if I run into trouble, this is the best place for help... :D

No, atleast not that I know and have heard of. I know I've heard from Pete and others who won't sell the babies unless they have had a first shed and a few meals. I know with Pete and all of his babies... he makes SURE that each one has eaten on it's own 5 times and has shed fine, etc before even thinking of selling it. Each baby has it's own ID card with the dates it shed and ate listed on it.
Good luck getting that baby started.
