    Yellowbelly? (DUW)
Help me out. Tell me what you think? Iver never been good at identifying a yellowbelly. Pics suck, The yellow near her belly is brighter in person. Its def. yellow all along her belly line, I know some normals can have this but shes a good 700-800 grams and normally its gone by now.

Nope, not a yellow belly - but a pretty snake nonetheless!

I agree with the others not a YB...but a nice looking big girl non the less.

Here is a great guide on identifying YB written by Jon from Next World Exotics.

Pay special attention to how the belly pattern is...yours doesn't have this pattern.

3 characteristics will determine a true Yellow Belly and they are, a light spot on the head, a clear belly(does not have to be yellow) and awesome flames. :)

This should help you see the difference - this has pictures of the bellies of a few YB's:

The term "yellowbelly" always confused me too. I have a normal female that carries a very bright yellow along her sides like that seen on yours and she's a full mature girl now. Until we got a YB it was a morph that confused me and seemed very subtle (when viewing pics online). Now that we are watching Riordan mature it's obvious he's not a normal and the things that identify him as a YB are more obvious in person and as he matures.

    That's a lovely snake you have! :)

Here are a couple good pictures to compare to your ball python...

Here is a list of what I look for in a good yellow belly...

    • The spot on the head
    • The clear belly
    • The pixelated markings where the belly meets the sides
    • The awesome flames on the sides
    • I also love to see a little yellow on the outer belly scales

Looks like an awesome normal! My male has the same markings but with flames and yellow flecks on the belly. I went through the whole Yellow belly thing with him too. It broke my heart to find out he was just a normal but he is my best breeder, eater, and he looks like a neonate all the time. SO CUTE!!
