    Remember me? *update*
I meant to post this a couple of days ago, but things have been really hectic this week.
Last year, on May 16, we bought my daughter a baby ball python for her birthday. Before we did, I did all the research I thought was necessary. I searched the internet, came up with a list of questions, went to the pet store and asked the questions (haha), and bought the supplies I was told we needed. Here's what that very first setup looked like:

Of course, it turned out that all the information I had found was wrong, and we ended up with a snake that refused to eat. Trey, later changed to Emily, got dehydrated and ended up with a prolapsed cloaca, so I took her to a vet. The vet gave me a supply of antibiotic shots and tube feeding supplies.
At that point in time, I was very worried about this little snake, and had gotten quite attached. I searched out forums, lurked as a guest for a while in a few, and then chose this one to ask my questions in.

So many people here gave me great advice and help. There's no way I could name you all, or thank you enough!

She got very sick and VERY tiny before getting better. Her smallest was 48g:

Once we got her off of tube feeding and eating pinkie mice, she started filling out a bit:

These days, Emily happily slams 3 adult mice a week, and is a sweet, happy snake living in a rack setup. I know you're all anxious to see what she looks like now :giggle:
    Emily this morning:

It has been a wonderous and exciting year for us, learning about these amazing animals, and Emily was our trial-by-fire girl. I firmly believe that she is only alive today because of the kind and generous people on this site. So to anyone who tries their best to help the people who come here looking for help, give yourselves a pat on the back, because there are those of us out here who appreciate it so very much.

Wow Sarah she looks wonderful! That first picture of her with the Snakes on the Plane thing, she just looks so tiny and maybe not going to make it and look at her now! What a testiment to your determination and unflagging care of her that she's the healthy, lovely snake she is today. Thanks so very much for giving us this update on her today. :)

Oh Jo, that was so lovely of you to say! Thank you so much, and I know I couldn't have gotten through that ordeal without your help. Looking at her when she wasn't even as big as a qtip still gets to me, I really didn't think she was going to make it at that point.
Weren't you the one who suggested I keep pictures of her growth progress?

Thanks, Jen! You should have seen me trying to take her pic this morning, it was hilarious. She's very outgoing out of her tub, won't be still for a second. so I had to put her back in her tub under a hide, then snatch the hide off and take her picture at the same time. Split second timing, or she was on her way out to explore in no time flat! lol

Honestly, I don't know how I lived without BP's before we got Miss Emily.

Whatever help I was Sarah, it was gladly given and I couldn't be more pleased to see this snake simply glowing with health and a very good size these days. Yep I remember our phone conversation and suggesting you take photos as she came along. I remember telling you that I figured one day, you would take this sometimes heartbreaking and scary experience with your baby snake and use it to help other members and their snakes. Here we are today with you doing that. Isn't life grand on occasion! :)

Not only have you saved Trey but through your efforts and the sharing of that experience you help others. That information will very likely save another snake's life. This, in my opinion, is the real reason and the true worth of BPNet. Congrats again Sarah, you've done a truly outstanding job with Trey!

Thanks! No, none of my snakes have died yet, but Trey/Emily did escape a couple of times, so maybe that was it. She got out once when she was so tiny and sick, and managed to get to the top of a 6 ft bookcase somehow! Crazy little thing.

Man, if I can give anyone a fraction of the help that I've gotten here, I will feel very accomplished. And your suggestion of documenting her growth was an excellent idea, I *love* having her progress laid out before me like that.
