I think Normy will be gone for good
Last night I checked the humidity in Normy's cage, I saw it was a little high. I didn't want to wake my Niece and Nephew up, so I didn't take the plexiglass off the screen to reduce the humidity. Instead I cracked the cage a little, well I go preoccupied studying for school and went to sleep. Today when I got home I went up to the loft where I live to get my laptop. I was wondering what the hell a small spider was doing in the cage and then I new exactly what was wrong. I torn the loft up twice looking. Then I noticed a hole in the wall. My mom also has baby chicks in the house right now, so I'll keep and ear out at night.

My parents live on almost 6 acres of land half is woods, we have a problem with mice always being in the house. So Normy has food for a long time, I don't think I will see Normy again.

I feel like crap, so no bashing me for an error I already made. Most of you are great about not doing that.

Try looking for tight dark places he could have gotten into, starting around his enclosure, try under and behind the furniture, etc.

    Good luck on finding him.

We all make mistakes, and a snake escape is common. My friend has had several snakes disappear on him over many years. Check places like the couch, beds, etc. They seem to like hiding behind things like computers, entertainment centers, and refrigerators too because of the heat they give off. Good luck.

Try putting a small box in a dark corner over a heating pad. Turn the heat down and stay out of the room overnight. If you have more than one heating pad do this in several places (remember SMALL box) Make the heating pad warmish/hot (not too hot). Leave it for a few days, check every so often. I have had good luck doing this. I have found that my snakes dont go far (when I used to work 2 jobs I would fall asleep holding my snakes: stupid me: did this twice. Each time I found them this way.

    lol
i had this happen a couple weeks ago to me. i had him up under my shirt near my shoulder and nodded off. woke up a couple hours later and couldnt feel him. freaked me out being as my gf is frightened to death of them and has made threats about if they escape. thankfully i was sitting on the couch when this happened and the 2d cushion i picked up was where he was hiding.

Thanks for the replies. The tension in my house right now is high, I really don't have days or weeks wait right now. If I was living on my own again I wouldn't mind so much. I'll go through everything again tonight and tomorrow in the loft area where I sleep, I really hope I can find him so I can get some of the tension out of the house.

From what I have experienced...they dont tend to travel to far away...i have accidentally fell asleep with my cage off...and spent hours looking just to find out that he is in some small little space in the same room as his cage.

well, i wish i had a room, would of found him with the search i did. I have a feeling he went in the hole in the wall wear the mice come up, or went through the railings of the loft. I searched so through the Secret Service would of been proud if they new a bomb was in the presidents room. I know this because I have done searches for the USSS

Tiki got out once.... I tried to feed him and he refused it so I went to put the mouse away and forgot the lid was off. I went back down and no tiki.... I looked under everything and finally gave up. I was sitting there staring at the wall when I noticed him sitting on the shelf just above his cage.... He'd been watching me the whole time!!!

A week ago i was told by my brother that he found my 100% HET ghost breeder who escaped 2 months ago before my brother even moved in with me. He turned up a few scrapes here and there but other wise in good helth. Im sure he will turn up when you least expect it.

well I guess we should count ourselves lucky, our boy houdini got out about 3 weeks ago.. looked all over the apartment and had sadly given in to the idea of a successful escape.. this afternoon the wife was cleaning some clutter on the computer desk and lo and behold there's a snake tucked away behind a box of miscellanious items.. she was concerned at first since it didn't appear to her to be breathing so she waited til I got home from lunch to pick it up (she has issue w/touching dead things) and when I picked it up it coiled tighter.. keep hoping, it might just turn up

Awesome! :carrot: Most of that weight loss is probably water, get him hydrated and he'll be fine I'm sure. Congrats on his return!

Found him down in the basement under the washing machine. Odd place because the basement stays in the low 70s.

It was probably the humidity that led him there, plus probably less foot traffic.
