Fair trade?

There is a guy who owns a local shop were I live. He dose not work with Balls at all (other then selling CH normals), and he has a female spider in his shop. He has had the thing for about 3 months (asking 1,499.00), I know I giggled alittle when i saw the price. So i went down there and asked the guy who was working if he thought the owner would be interested in a trade. I told him the snakes Im willing to part with are one of my male breeder pastels, 1.1 albino het, or this really cool looking I think normal with a great reduced pattern and green/olive colored eyes. He hasent said if he wants to trade yet but what do you guys think, I am not trading all 4 for the spider but I would do 2 or 3 depending on the group or pair he wants.

Why? That sounds worth it. The four snakes are probably worth $800-$1,200 depending on size... about the cost of a spider. Although I'm not sure why you'd want to trade all of those snakes in for a spider. It sounds like you're well on your way to making some nice pastels and albinos...

Albinos and pastel...good

Spider...bad


Not saying I don't like spiders, but I would rather make albinos and pastels than just spiders

Well in my opinion having the het for albinos and the pastel are worth more.;)

If he doesn't "do" ball pythons, I don't know why he'd want to trade 4 or 1 instead of $1,499.

Wouldnt you rather have 2 morph-making possibilities instead of one morph?

And if your female is so pretty, which she sounds like she is, why would you want to give her up for pretty much an impulse buy?

It all depends on what you want personally I'd keep the animals I have and try to buy a spider. That way you know its eating habits, and medical record. Just my two cents.

This shop isnt in jacksonville florida by any chance is it? Anyway i would keep your snakes. One spider isnt worth it to me... Buts thats just me.

Ben does have some crazy prices.

I think it all depends on what YOU want to do for a breeding project - and this will determine if it is a good value.


For Instance -
Right now you could make Albinos, Albino Pastels, Pastels and Normals

If you trade the Albino Hets and the normal for the Spider you could make Bumblebee's, Spiders, Pastels and Normals

It all comes down to what do you want to do.

yeah i made an offer for it a long time ago cash but they didnt budge on the 1500 so no biggie.

Just to cmake a few things clear, I have 2 male breeder pastels only 1 im willing to part with, the albino hets are still a year to a year and a half from breeding, and the normal is a male. I would like to to try and prove out the male but being as that i bought him as a normal I dont really need a male normal. I dont intened to trade all 4 snakes just 2 maby 3 if he throws in some other animal that peeks my intrest. I still have a pair of pastels Im keeping that will breed this next season, a het ghost male, and 6 normal girls if I were to get rid of the other 4 snakes. I want the spider for a bee project. But I can afford to let those snakes go Im in the works in getting a soon to be breeder het ghost female. So yea I just wanted to clear somthings up. Thanks for all the input all.

I cant tell you right now ben wont do that trade, he doesnt like hets.
He personally breeds boas and wont do boa hets either.
You can try, but i doubt it.

Yea I got a call from Steve he said he is interested in the hets and maby the other 2. I told him what i was looking for and he said he would see what he could do.
