Well, I'm new here. I don't have ball pythons anymore, but will in the near future, along with other large snakes. But, here are my crested geckos:
Thanatos (adult male from Firereptiles and camera shy...)

Here's Thanatos. He has a slight case of floppy tail (I think...) so he is getting extra calcium. I can't check his stores though because he won't let me lol

wow he is gorgeous! i love the peppering on his back. it does look like he has floppy tail, but really that is very common, especially among males.

be careful not to give him too much calcium as that can be more dangerous than not enough. to get him to open his mouth you can use one of those small rubber spatulas--just slip it into him mouth and once in tilt it so you can see inside. since it is flexible and rubber you don't risk injuring his mouth or getting his teeth caught in it.

I'll try that. I only supplement a little extra once a week for him.

I do leopards, not cresties, but why force the supplements on him, why not just supplement his food more often? shouldn't it have the same effect with much less stress?

qiksilver, I do supplement his food. You check his calcium stores by opening his mouth, where the calcium is stored.

cresteds have come a long way over the years......new names for color morphs......new colors. but i like to call them little boxes of chocolates....cuz when u breed them u never know what you are going to get! lol hee heee hee
