    Blurry Ball's???
Anyone got any new info on blurry balls? I think my female is one now after being told she might be and then doing a bit of research. But there really isn't a lot of information out there on them. If there is someone on here that is working with them or knows alot, you can PM me also if you'd prefer. I will post her pic on here tomorrow, but I do have pics of her posted in the photo forum.. Any info would be greatly appreciated.. :D

Compare your snake to this picture as this is a excellant example of a Blurry Ball. :) These are sometimes called high gold jungles. :)

    Hope this helps.;) http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...g?t=1179163258

On "blurry" balls, the lower half of the side patterns look.... blurry. ;)

Shatters seem to be more intense with a lot of contrast, maybe pixelated is a good word to describe it.

OK...so I am confused now (I know not shocking :D ). The picture that Ed posted and the one that Brad posted don't look anything alike and I don't see any common features.

What are the key features of a Blurry Ball and for that matter a Shatter Pattern? - since they seem to be very close:confused:

Its not in the color...they're just as variable as any other normal ball python...its the pattern. Look at the black areas that border the green/yellow area - you can see how the lines look "out of focus." Also, blurry's tend to have a much lighter head than normals.

Jury is still out on whether this trait is consistently reproducible. The girl I posted above was completely reduced as well - no alien heads or black spots to be found on her. Really cool looking snake, horrible attitude, and a great feeder. She's currently clowning around at another breeder's place, can't wait to see what comes out!

Thanks Brad...so then would you consider this one? Has a lighter head and has similar zig/zag "blurry" pattern on the lower half of the body??

I'd say no...could be wrong...sometimes its hard to tell with pictures. Look closely at the black areas bordering the green/yellow patches...to the naked eye it should look almost "out of focus."

Thanks...I think you are right (for me) this is one of those I need to see a yes and a no side by side...as I just don't see the differences enough in the pictures. (had the same issue with YB's :D )

OK I finally made it on here to put the new pics of my female. I have read that blurries sometimes have shorter heads than most balls, is that true or not? And are there any markers other than the blurrieness yet for this, and I have heard also that they have never been proven, is this true also.

Ed, have you ever seen any males like my female.. I want to find her a mate that has all her qualities..
    Here she is again...

Cant say that I have seen a male like your female...cant say that I have ever seen two alike. :confuzd:

I like the striping on your female and if I was looking for a mate for her, I would try and find the most colorful one available. Good Luck. :sweeet:

There was - and there is. People are still quietly working with them to see how they might affect other mutations. :)
