I think looking for a "fun snake" based on the size of your tank is NOT the best way of going about choosing a snake. you need to take into consideration what this snake is going to eat, how your going to provide it a proper habitat and husbandry requirements, look into specific requirements for whatever snake you decide upon. Whatever "big snake" your going to get is going to require a second person to help you clean the cage, handle etc. If your looking for something just to put in your big tank, i'd recommend getting something other than a large snake, otherwise I think you may need to readress the situation with a little more seriousness b/c making a decision of whether to get a big snake at all should be a very well thought out decision taking into account the entirety of the snakes life.

A big snake to fit in your 125g ISN'T a "play with and hold" sized snake. If you'd like a snake to handle, a ball python or a corn would be a good size for you, but then you'd need a much smaller tank for it.

And, if you're looking for a bigger snake, (from your comments in your other thread) I wouldn't suggest a burm, like you were asking about. Burms aren't beginner snakes.

Yea well, I just re-read mine and it's full of grammatical errors and kinda hard to follow... My bad. :P

But in all serioussness, it seems as though when we told you that a bp is way too small for a 125gal tank you immediatley jumped on the idea of getting a big snake. And that's just not the thought process one should have when deciding on getting a giant.

125g is a nice turtle tank!!! you could make a kick butt natural enclosure for 1/2 land and 1/2 water with a water fall and lots of plants... get some great lights... now that would be amazing!!!

Personally I would get a Boa Constrictor... they are not difficult to take care of and never need anything larger than a jumbo rat. They do get large and because of this, can be potentially dangerous to an inexperienced keeper.

We're not punks darlin but you sure as hell are! You ask on a public forum at a site that promotes responsible snake ownership about what to get and you got honest answers. You then have a little temper tantrum. Do you think for one minute any of us have the time to hand hold your fragile emotions and tell you what you want to hear? Think again buddy boy! We're trying to give you solid advice so you can make an informed decision but I'd pretty much put money on it from this post of yours that "informed decision" is beyond your level of maturity.

Get a pet rock and a new attitude.

Hey, junior, I don't know how long mommy's gonna be at work, but you might want to get off her computer and go color or take a nap. I know you won't learn how to spell until 2nd grade, but it's never too early to start.

You know, I was going to give you a suggestion, until you threw that tantrum. Anyone that is REALLY looking for advice wouldn't insult those they are seeking answers from.

I guess I'll post my suggestion anyway. You could divide the tank into smaller spaces and get a couple of snakes. Though, with an attitude like that towards people who are just trying to help you, I wouldn't recommend you get ANY snake. You obviously are not serious about this hobby. :banned1:

I thought I smelled a rat last night, now I know for sure. Someone oughta beat that attitude out of you. I rarely recommend resorting to violence, but in your case I'll make an exception. Stop wasting our time.

Are you saying that a jumbo rat is not large enough? Sounds fine for a male and maybe even a female.

I feed my boa 1 jumbo rat at his feedings...sometimes just 1 lge and 1 small rat...and sometimes just a bunny.

am I starving my boa?!?!?!

    no...i don't think so. :colbert:

however...if you (the poster) are looking for a 'fun' pet...maybe you should just get a dog. I hear they are LOADS of fun!!!
