    Pam?
As stated in my other thread, I'm treating my male snake for mites, well, according to the instructions on the can, you are just supposed to spray down the tank and the substrate, and not the animal itself...my question is, if I dont spray the animal, then how the hell is this stuff supposed to kill the eggs and any mites already on him?

Spray on substrate, PAM dries on substrate, snake crawls on substrate, mites and eggs on snake die.

Works like a charm. ;) :sweeet:

    Hope this helps.

It will, the mites leave the snake to deposit eggs in the cage. As soon as the mites touch the bedding it will kill them. If you spray it directly on the snake it will kill it.

I personally don't like keeping a water bowl in a treated cage, to worried about them laying in the water and transferring PAM residue into their water. I prefer to supervise them and as soon as they get a drink take it back out.

I need to attest to the effectiveness of PAM. I had a stubborn mite problem in my collection, and the only thing that fully eradicated the things was PAMite.. skip anything else :)
Adam's right; it works just as used as directed.

well, thats what I used, and he only had a few mites here and there, lets hope I got it at the very beginning before it turned into a HUGE problem. :)

    Re: Pam?
And how do you apply it, so far what I have read is you apply it on the bedding and you let it dry for 30 minutes then you can put the snake back in, but should I take out water bowl and the hides???

I have always left water bowls in after using PAM with no problems but I can see the concerns. Never really thought about it. Does not seem to hurt though.

If it took 6 hours or all day to dry, you used WAY more than needed. A few short bursts are all that is needed. A few minutes is all it should take to dry.

The only reason i waited 6 hrs was for the safety of my snakes... And its not like i doused the tubs in it or anything... :salute:

    Dry is dry :)

It is perfectly safe to use with snakes if you follow the instructions to the letter.

same here, I followed the directions of the can perfectly, and didnt soak the tub, I did however wait till I could only smell the aspen bedding when the tank was sitting outsite, till I put it all back in. So in short, I would stick my head completely in his tub, unless I only smelled aspen, I let it dry more.
