    NC Reptile Show!!
Just curious, is anyone going to the NC reptile show in raleigh this weekend?

My wife and I will be there on sunday, if not both days. I'd love to see if anyone else from here is gonna be there?

    Well?

no, unfortunately it's a bit far for me this time. i did go to it a few years ago and it was a good show but i'm attempting to save up for daytona so i need to steer clear. :)

Oh yes I will be there! Probably just Saturday because of the March on Sunday, but I can barely stand myself I'm so excited about the show! It sucks I get paid again like 2 days afterwards, so I've had to really pay attention to my spending here lately :D

There should be a pretty good supply of frozen food there, wouldn't you think? I planned it perfect and need to re-up, but thought I could do it better at the show than at pet stores around... thoughts?

I can't speak for that show specifically, as I've never been to it...but I've been to lots of different shows around the country and never seen one that didn't have at least one frozen feeder vendor. :) They're usually an excellent place to pick up a goodly supply of feeders and avoid paying for shipping. Be sure to bring a cooler to carry them home in. ;)

Oh man, it's going to be warm out too... I'll have to get like one of those lunch boxes with the soft sides and some ice packs, huh?

If I couldn't switch to rat pups is there any chance I could switch to small african rat products, or do you think he's pretty much just going to keep eating mice?

too bad you cant be there on sunday, I knew there wouldn't be too many members going but was hoping to say hey to at least one or two :-p

having a yard sale on saturday to make some last mintue cash, although I've been working out a deal with a breeder thats gonna be there about a pastel that he's had for a year or so, male that should be ready to go this year. We'll see. If I get him I may just pick up a ready to breed female as the only one I have that might be ready to go this year may not quite make it to breeding weight and for the sake of her health I may give her another year just to be safe

def when they open, and def when they close, as long as you can leave in the middle we probably will to grab food and such.

If you can't leave and come back then we'll be there from open to close!

It was great! Way better Saturday than at the end of Sunday IMO, but I loved it! I saw a couple things that pissed me off and upset me... Like a grown beardie in something smaller than a kleenex box... it was jammed in there so tightly I just wanted to buy it to get it out of there :( and a Damien? Ball Python with a NASTY shed thing going on for sale with tank and all for $50 :( I would have taken it if I weren't broke from my purchases!

    It's a semi-anual event right? 2x a year?

yeah twice a year, the wife and I were there, with a friend of ours.

She got her first ball python! We had bought alot as we were buying for the pet store she works at.

We had a golden tree frog, white lipped tree frog, 3 sand skinks, 1 ornate skink, 1 pink toe spider, 1 pyramid agama, 1 (forgot name) agama, 5 dune geckos, 1 leopard geckos, 2 crocadile geckos, 1 fan-footed gecko, 2 walking frogs, and maybe another animal or two that I am not remembering!

Our roomate got a ball python

and I picked up 5 animals lol. 2 snakes, 1 skink, 2 frogs. Not too bad considering! I had planned on coming home with 1 snake, 2 frogs. I just happend to see a snake I couldn't pass up, and the wife really wanted a skink. (she used to have one and loved it)

I'll post pictures on the bp pictures page in just a bit :)

Oh and that lady with the beardies in the things smaller than shoeboxes! GRRR I walked by and saw her with 3 on her shoulders and stuff and I was like awe, they're just relaxing and look some comfy, then about 2 min later she shoved em in those little boxes! I was appauled!

I almost bought the biggun I saw in there... just to get it out of there! But I couldn't and even if I could, that would have been dumb! Poor guy!
