How big?
What is the biggest bp ever found?
-
Re: How big?
Doubt anyone will know that.

Re: How big?
There was one on kingsnake that was something like 5+ feet, as big around as someone's arm.

Re: How big?
i think the biggest the guy i bought mine from that hes seen is 6 or 7'.
-
Re: How big?
Mines is bout 5' or so she seems to be that big lol

Re: How big?
A BP at 6 foot? Wow...I can't even imagine that. Chimera is about as thick as my forearm, but then again my forearms are kinda twiggy -_-
-
Re: How big?
I think I can see a big female reaching 6 feet or so. My BP is pushing 2.5 feet, so I don't think I have to worry about him getting that big. :D

I have seen this snake in person... The first time I saw it, I glanced at it and didn't know what it was.... looked like a blood or part of a Burm with weird markings.
I won't purchase snakes from that store again, though.

So it really was as big and wasn't like an optical illusion? too bad they are sketchy.

Re: How big?
Biggest python maybe, not BALL python,
Probably a Burmese python at that size.

Re: How big?
I beleive he was joking due to a burmese on the loose that was 15ft was called a 25ft ball python. but the biggest I've seen was around 7.5ft and 20 something lbs.

I'd like to see a picture of that BP. 7'5" and over 9000 grams. Hard to believe, I know I've seen some in the 4000-5500 gram range...but wow.

Snakes never stop growing. Although they do slow down considerably after 3 years.
BTW, I'd love to see that 7.5'/9000 gram Ball. Then again, I'd love to see Bigfoot and I suppose the odds of me seeing either one are about the same.

Re: How big?
I think she's gorgeous!! It's an 06 male, and he was 135g last month at the vet :( shaped fine, just tiny... but I'm sure he'll still grow now that the mites are gone, and the husbandry is set... he just didn't have a good start! But I'm getting serious snake envy! The other day I held a baby burm *way outta my league even at his tiny size* who was bigger than my snake... he was a bit fiesty for me, I'll take my snake over that guy any day, but but but I like em bigger... oooh I have a question, but since I am trying to learn not to hijack, I'll just go start a thread! LOL

Don't worry...it will grow. My roommates snake doesnt grow as fast as mine but it still grows. You will notice a huge difference by the end of the summer.
I remember my guy. Got him in August and he was just about 4 months old then...didnt notice much but around Christmas time...he was much much bigger and now he is just a freak. :)
The reptile stores/breeders say he is doing really well and growing really fast, but they said i tis good care and good feeding. All I do is keep him on a weekly schedule. So i guess try that and he/she shall grow!

Re: How big?
Prime example I got a pastel male born Oct of 06. I got him in Dec he was 250 grams. He was being an A$$ and only ate 2 meals 1 in Jan and 1 in Feb. I got him back on feed and feeding him every 7 days a ex small rat he now taps the scale at 418 grams.. Hell be a breeder by Nov. My Spider is the king born Nov '06 and he at 387 as of this morning.. :D
Just be patient and they'll grow some faster than you would like.

It also really depends what time of year he hatched to. I have an '06 female hatched in may and she's around 450g and probably ~ 30 inches( last time i measured her length she was 27 inches, but waay back in feb, she's a chunker though ^^) and I just recently bought a sept '06 male, who weighs around 210g. Each snake has their own growth rate, but they will all hit the average size eventually. So i wouldn't worry about it
