I have come to introduce myself.
Hello I just signed up for this forum today, I'm eager to learn all that I can.
As I'm sure you can see by my signature I basically live in a zoo, but only the rodents, hermit crabs, and fishtank are in my room.
I will be getting my first snake in 4 days, a corn snake. In the future I would love to get a ball, it was just not an option for my first snake however, as I am still living at home, and my big argument was how small a corn stayed.
I plan to eventually get a ball when I move out of my house but that might be 1-2 years from now...or who knows when. But I like to do the proper research regardless. Heck I thought I'd have to wait about 7 months to get my snake into the house and I had my parents convinced in the beginning of april, and started reasearch mid march. So there's hope :D
Can't wait to meet you all and learn all about the lovely snakes here. :snake:

I hope to get my ball eventually direct from a breeder so this information is ideal. I work at petco :rolleye2: so I'd rather not get a snake from there, just as I'm getting my corn at the Havre De Grace reptile show this weekend.

Don't worry I plan on checking out every aspect of this site and before registering noted that there was a corn snake board ;)

I also belong to a corn snake board and they've been dealing with me through all of this. I've had the habitat set up for well over a week, and the UTH thermostat and thermometer with probe set up since last week*cough* I'm excited can't you tell?
And I have a nikon digital camera that I love, so fear not, you'll probally regret requesting me to post pictures because I doubt I'll stop once I get started.

Welcome to the forums! I love people who do research. It saves the headache. I also enjoy the fact that you won't be buying from PetCo. So thank you for doing research and I can't wait to see pictures of your new Corn!

I love it when people are like "wait...don't you work there? You can get a discount!"
I really don't like the thought of buying something so intricate as a snake from there. I want to know where the snake came from, who it's parents were, possible shed and feeding records, I want to do this all the right way for my first herp :carrot:
