    Georgia Aquarium Pictures - DUW
Well, FINALLY, after the aquarium has been here a year and a half, we finally made it yesterday - thanks to my company, who was selling tickets for $10 each (normally $24 each) for our annual Sprint for Cancer fundraiser. Here are some pictures from yesterday!

    Hammerhead

This picture was to give perspective to this huge wall where people were looking at the Whale Sharks:

Great pictures! I'll have to make a trip to see the aquarium in person.

Correction on your "River Fish" picture...

They are a mixture of rift lake cichlids from Lake Malawi in Africa. It looks mainly like large groups of mbuna and a few Malawi haps(Red Empress to be exact...lol), and I think I see a peacock in there.

    <Just me being a fish nerd.:nerd:

I would love to see more of their reef display if you have pictures!

Jason - you are probably correct - but they had them at the entrance of the River Scout exhibit - they were pretty nonetheless! :D

Kim, the sad thing was - we were through half the exhibits before I finally figured how to set the ISO speed to HI in order to take better pictures that weren't blurs of fish going by. Sadly, the beluga whale pictures were too blurry :(

It is, in fact that entire area is really nice and "the" place to take visitors to Atlanta. Centennial Olympic Park is across the street, CNN Center within walking distance, and the new World of Coke is going up right next door. Certainly a showcase area for Atlanta!

You are correct - it's actually this:

At the center of this gallery is one of the largest living reef exhibits of any aquarium in the world. Living corals and thousands of colorful reef fish are presented in a faithful recreation of a tropical Pacific coral reef, complete with an overhead crashing wave.

Nice shots Robin!! The wife and I got a chance to go last year on our Daytona trip, and it was awesome. I could stand in front of that 6 million gallon system staring for hours. Thanks for sharing!
