Rich at Reptile Basics...

Is GREAT! Rap and I decided to build Cue's Rat Racks.... fun project, right? :rolleyes: After HOURS of looking at gadgets, washers, hoses, and connectors... for the watering system.... I had it! I was just going to go home, and order what was needed! Problem solved, right? Wrong.... I'm "order on line challenged".... I sent two orders to Rich, I kept getting an error message??? :rolleye2: Forgot the comma on my street addy.... both came out of my account, much like a hotel.... I would have not even KNOWN if Rich had not informed me! :oops:
I told him I was more comfortable waiting to make sure the 2 charges did not go through before I reordered. He was so great.... also when they shipped without a few pieces, he sent an e mail as a heads up to let me know, and to tell me he's shipping them as soon as they arrive!

Just thought I'd spread the word from my end!!! :sunny:

He's a cool guy to deal with. I own a few racks from him, and have a few 4' cages coming in. Nice quality products at a good price!

Reptile basics is awesome. I got my t-stat that I ordered on Monday, for Wednesday.. my Flexwatt got here today and was ordered on Tuesday. Awesomely fast shipping, and the items were packed securely and are in brand-new condition. Thanks Rich for wiring the Flexwatt for free also; a definite stand-up guy. :)

I second that Rich is a great guy to work with, I have 2 racks and a thermostat, and some heat tape from him, among other things. A pleasure to order stuff from him and not have to worry about it.

I figured that I would update here, since I plugged in the t-stat and FWatt. everything is in great working order! Thanks Rich.

I just order two of the 3x2 cages last Saturday, can't wait till they arrive.:cool:

We have one of Rich's racks, the STC-410 Narrow (15 qt). Very, very nice...well constructed...heats beautifully and the Iris tubs fit perfectly. Love the pins that keep each tub from sliding forward unless you want it to. We'll definitely be looking for more Reptile Basics racks down the road. :)

I have one as well, i love it. My snakes love it, only a few of them need hides in there because its like a 15 qt hide. Rich is so awesome too as far as the business end goes.

We don't have any hides in the rack as it's solid black so seems to act as the "hide" basically. One of the snakes in that rack is very shy so we do give her a few more layers of newspaper so she can snuggle in and be content. The rest just move about and seem quite relaxed and unstressed.

How did I miss this thread? Rich is a damn superstar. I have bought countless racks and now some awesome snakes from him.

I've yet to buy off him, except for at shows, but everyone I know gets all their supplies from him and swears by him. Next round of supplies I get will definitely be coming from him.

I LOVE ordering from Rich. Shipping is just so quick and everything is always packaged neatly. I have a habit of ordering on Thursday night, package ships out on Friday and it gets here the following Wednesday.

He's real quick with the replies too. I just emailed him about an order earlier today. I went to wal mart, came back and there's my answer. I only have one BP now, but whenever the time comes for me to upgrade and go with racks, Im definitely considering Reptile Basics first.

Rich is the first person i go to, and the first person i recommend to anyone.

I've been meaning to add to this for awhile now. I placed an order with him a few weeks ago for some flexwatt and other misc odds n' ends. He called me at home to discuss the flexwatt and make sure he understood what I was asking for (separate small pieces each wired individually) and to make sure there might not be a less expensive way to achieve the same effect.


We got it all worked out...understood each other perfectly...and within 48 hours, I had my box of goodies.

Most excellent service and I would not hesitate to do business with him again, as well as recommend him to my friends. :)

I agree with everyone, he is AWESOME! I ordered my Johnson and Ultratherm pad recently and called him first to clarify if I should get the pad or flexwatt. When I told him it was for a cage I'm building, he listened to my plans and gave me advice on how to improve them, it was great! A few hours later, I needed something clarified and called back. He instantly remembered me and gave great clear instructions on how to install the pad in the cage. I've never dealt with someone so attentive before.
Oh, and when I told him that it was the opinions on this forum of him that led me to order from him, he was very modest. :D

i have never bought from Rich, i have heard nothing but great things about him not only hear but from everywhere i go. currently have 2 five slot racks that are filled up and am going to need some racks for larger balls and hatchlings soon and will be calling Rich

I was looking over the RB page and saw the racks and loved the prices and the free shipping he offers. I have not heard of reptile basics before and have no idea who he is or what his products are like, after reading this thread, I will def most likely be getting my next two racks from him. Thanks for posting all your alls experiences for people like me who are looking to get info on a supplier they know nothing about.

I'm curious though, Rich know this thread exist?
