What is this "lori" ball and spotnose I hear about all the time?
I hear them being mentioned from time to time. Hot new morph? Het for something? How are they produced and what do they look like?If someone could provide more data as well as pics that would be much appreciated. :)

Theyre both codom traits, and the spotnose was just posted, but good luck finding a pic of the lori ball (may be on brian's myspace page i think he said, dunno I don't do myspace) but there was one pic of the lori floating around for a while, and brian is supposed to post a pic of the super lori asap, but he's been busy. Never seen the super ball(?)(spotnose super) but heard its pretty interesting.

Here's a picture of the Super Spotnose or Powerball. I believe this was the only one in existence and died due to a fall.

The regular Lori and the Super Lori.

See if I remember the story correctly - Brian Barczyk named it after his wife, Lori. I believe she picked out the original one because she thought it was something different.

I don't know if it's because she picked it out or not...but it's definitely named for her. ;)

Re: What is this "lori" ball and spotnose I hear about all the time?
Lori is Brian's wife. She picked out the original Lori ball from a captive hatched shipment. Brian and everybody else at BHB thought she was crazy. Lori stuck to her guns and kept the original Lori ball. Once they produced the Super in 2004, the project became know as the Lori Ball because of Lori's persistence with the project. There isn't much out there about the Lori Balls, because Lori has only let out one pair of Lori Balls since the project started. Brian has been promising new pics of the Super, so we'll have to wait for those.

I really cannot see anything unusual with the Lori (maybe pic isn't close enough) What traits does it have?

They look very similar to a cinny pastel......similar characteristics...just not as 'drastic' as a cinny.

I dont think Charlie has any problem at all seeing the difference with the Super Lori, he asked about the Lori...

Charlie, if I had to explain it to someone, I would say it looks somewhere in between a cinny and a HRA, showing traits of both..that help? you want me to send you some pics?

Here are some pics of the Spotnose morph. As you can see the black is very rich and true. They also have an abbarant head pattern and busy pattened belly. This rich black makes for exciting crosses! See the Pastel Spotnose as below

Isn't the pastel spotnose referred to as a yellowjacket?
