I can sooooo feel your pain. What kind of ants are we talking about? The small black ants? I can't imagine they would be too bad as long as they aren't fire ants. Of course those ants are the main reason we use Terminex. ;)

I use an ant and roach spray that I spray all over the corners and edges of the room, and CLEAN like crazy. Ants won't come around somewhere they can't find food. I also like to seal the edges of the floor with a silicone caulk. It cuts down on their access points so it's easier to figure out where to spray.

A couple of ants in the cage shouldn't be a big deal, just squash the ones you find. Also I don't think they could pick up enough poison to be a danger to your snake. It's never been a problem for me.

You could always use some PAM (provent-a-mite) in your snakes cage to rid you of any ants...better safe then sorry.

BTW...PAM also works wonders in place of a bug spray around the house. ;)

I couldn't agree more. Follow the little boogers back to the source. Then annihilate them! Muh ha ha ha !!! :devilish: Ok... I'm better now. I have caulked up any and all openings that I could find, and that helped quite a bit. Of course having said that I'll find the little boogers somewhere.

I can agree to that! When we get the odd bee or hornet that gets in between the windows in the living room, PAM comes out, and it is dead almost instantly. Just don't let it get on you, or in any food, cups or glasses, etc. that might be lying around.

Man if I could have a free roaming pangolin I'd die of joy - or possibly pangolin scratches.

But it would be soooooooo worth it.

I had to go google Pangolin. VERY COOL! Looks like a throw back to the dinosaurs.

Grants ant traps.... I've tried a bunch of different traps and those are the only ones that worked for me.

The scouts take the poison back to the queen and the rest of the colony. They die off pretty quick.
