Drunk Driver SUCK!

I hung out with my friend Ben and a few of his friends last night. We went out to a bar and hung out. We all left around 1:30 and he drove me back home since he picked me up. Both of us were fine to drive! So half way on home we are stopped at a red light. It turns green so Ben starts to go. We are almost out of the intersection and then all of a sudden BAM. The truck turned around side ways. Some drunken moron ran their red light and smashed right in to the side of his trucks bed on the passengers side. I was fine by really scared, Ben was fine... the drunk guy was fine but was out of it. Cops and EMT came. Drunk guy got locked up because he's had a few DWI's and his license was suspended because of it. Ben's truck is messed up.


I must have something watching over my ass! I swear I get myself into some bad situations and some how I always walk out. I've been told by a few people that if it were anyone else, that they probably would have not made it in a few of the things I've gone through. Umm maybe I'm just lucky and I don't know it. Maybe my mother is just watching over me, I have no idea.


My back is just sore today and my right shoulder has a bruise where my seat belt locked up and so does my left hip. I guess I hit the seatbelt buckle. I'm alive so I'm grateful for that!

Allison thank goodness you are both okay though shaken up. Wearing seatbelts likely saved you both from more extensive injuries. I cannot believe with the information out there and the penalties involved, that people are still driving under the influence! :mad:

A truck can be repaired, but people's lives sometimes cannot.

I'm so glad you're ok, I was a little nervous when I saw the title because my friend has a broken pelvis in 5 places and can't walk, and has nerve damage in her leg from a drunk driver hitting her car. The force of the accident also snapped her seatbelt and ejected her brother from car. This was a few weeks ago and they were fortunate to have both survived, but if I ever me the guy who hit them god help him. This girl is the sweetest thing and doesn't deserve what she got at all... stupid drunk drivers

I'm glad you and your friend came out relatively unscathed. Is it too much to hope that the other driver had insurance?

Drunk drivers are the worse. We got into it with some drunk teens a couple years back when they hit us. My mom got out yelling at them and they open the door only to have a beer bottle hit the ground. They don't see what they do to people surrounding them until its too late

Sorry to hear the bad news. In 1996 my grandfather was killed by a drunk driver. The ironic thing about that was that my grandfather was the most cautious driver out there, almost paranoid. The thing he feared most happened to be his demise.

So true! I lost a friend back in Dec, actually the next day after my birthday because some drunk driver hit him head on. I now live with the regreat of not letting him take me out to dinner the night before for my birthday. :(

Glad that you're ok! :hug: I hate drunken drivers, a little girl was killed here recently because of one. :(
