Sheer curiosity. Just want to know what kind of connection you have. Wondering how many of you live so far out in the boonies that DSL hasn't reached you yet (I HAVE been there), are completely resistant to new technology, or just don't feel like paying 50 bucks a month for DSL (completely justified there..)

I got the FiOs :D

I use EarthLink DSL but would like to use Verizon Fiber-Optic or Qwest high-speed.

I had to actually google FiOs. We've got Verizon as a cell phone provider, but according to the wiki - Georgia doesn't have FiOs available....:(

We have Hughesnet. It is a satellite dish; not bad in the speed department, but in the snow you have to go out intermittently and clear the ice/snow from the dish and its eyes.. not bad though! Beats dialup out here where we have no choice..

we live out in the boonies
cannot get cable or DSL
but between my business and my spouse's business, it justified getting a T1
so we did :)

i use verizon DSL.

We have GOBS (technical term...not really) of bandwidth here at work. We are in the final stages of a huge fiber project that is in its 4th year. We provide internet and services over fiber to our school districts and some outside as well as the county 911 services. In the summer or when school is not in session downloads are crazy fast...

At home for the last couple years I have been using wireless broadband from a local provider. 12Mb of un-capped goodness! No charge either...I used to work for them also and help with testing when needed.

I have Comcast. I hate having to use those slacker-@$$ crooks.

i don't live in the boonies by any means, but dsl is not available. the only high speed internet available is comcast and i'm sorry, but they suck absolute ass here. i'm not even going to go into how difficult it was to actually get someone out to my house when i moved just to turn the freaking service on. what? you had an appointment? ...oh right, well we won't be able to send anyone out until next week now... gah!

Well, I know I've seen members complain about dial-up restrictions on the picture-intensive threads. Maybe they're embarrassed to vote? :P

i had comast but time warner bought them so now it switched to road runner. It's all to expensive in my book.

If so they should speak up :P. The reason I wanted to know is I get annoyed at the DUW on every picture thread and I was honestly curious just how many people are doing the dial-up thing.

DSL here. Not a huge fan though, need to switch back to cable.

Verison DSL. FIOS IS COMING!!! WOOO!!

Broadband is a required utility on par with gas, electric, water, etc...

comcast is awesome.

dial up is dead.
