What temps for snake after meal
What temp and humidity should the snake be at when digesting its meal for a few days? my humidity is around 50% but I hear that the Fluckers digital thermometers could be off by as much as 10% if true what thermometer would be a better buy. And also if I need to increas humidity whats one good way, I have a tank thats mostly wood besides the front which is glass. Thanks

Your temps should not change - they should always be the same, whether digesting food or not. 82-84 on the cool side, 92-94 on the warm side - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your humidity is fine.

I like the AcuRite digital thermometer that you can pick up at Walmart.

It's about $12. Takes a AAA battery (not included). You might want to lower your cool side a few degrees. :)

Remember to measure your temps at the floor level, and not up a couple inches. I use that same model as well.

This particular model measures two temperatures and the general humidity. This allows you to measure the warm and the cool side temperatures and humidity of the tank.

I'm not sure that I'm understanding correctly... you have two digital thermometers on each side of the enclosure? :confuzd:

Don't worry, I made the same mistake when I started out. ;)

My local walmart doesnt carry that guage, in the indoor/outdoor plants area or back in hardware. So I got two thermometers from the petstore I get my mice from, one is combo, has a probe for humidity and temp, and the other is just a temp and nothing else, I dont mind have more then one guage, its a simple setup and is very easy for me to quick glance as his tank and see how it is. Think the company is called Zilla or something, i unno, but I really like em, I just took the probes and shoved em into the bedding to get the temps of where hes at, although over on the warm side he keeps moving the bedding and likes to sit directely on the UTH, why thermostats are awesome.

As for the temps after he eats, he usually looks for whatever hide hes near and goes for it, hes really not all that picky, lol.
