Male or Female? Help Please!

So I got my Chomper is now almost 9 mths old and is now just starting to really grow and not look so scrawney..compared to my Harley! I had her sexed by a breeder here in Tucson a while back and he said she was a she. Now I am having doubts and am concerned as I bought Harley as "her" boyfriend....sorry for all the pics:oops: What do you think...male or female?

That first pic definitely looks like a boy to me.

Looks like a male to me by the bulge in the second pic. But I am far from a Crested expert.

uh oh, that bulge is starting to look a little big for a girl. at what age was chomper sexed? can you post some photos that are zoomed in more on the cloacal area--particularly photos 1 and 4? i think is see pores in the first photo but if you can zoom in on those a little i should be able to tell for sure.

not the best example, but pores are the rows of dots that you can see in this photo (the white arrows are pointing to them). notice that there really isn't much of any bulge on this crested, but the pores are already visible. (thank you to simpler for modeling his cloacal region for us :P. )

it's still a little hard to tell but i'm pretty sure i can see some pores in there--can you see them if you look at chomper's cloacal/pre-anal area (look at the example i posted above for reference)? that along with the way that bulge is looking makes me think you might need to look for a more definite female. :)

So from my last pic Chomper is a boy! Have two males set up now instead of one male and one female waiting to be room mates.... Wanted.....Female cresties:P

not really. you can look for pre-anal pores using a jewlers loupe--this is quite effective once you learn what you are looking for, and allows you to sex cresteds as young as 3 months of age.

just a little fyi, the term "cresticles" originally came from marla, who used to be an active member here. she is responsible for getting me started on my crested addiction. :P

Yep:P Now I have to get Harley his own exo terra crestie tank. I have him in a ten gallon waiting to room with Chomper..thats not gonna happen:oops: And I have to find girlfriends for both of them...more cresties:D
