    Lift Somebody UP Today!
    Hey folks....I thought it might be a nice morale boost for our community to take some time to focus on the possitives...in particular, the people of this community that you feel have touched your life or helped you in a great way, or that you feel just deserve a pat on the back.

    Some guidelines for this particular thread: Be specific! If you want to name someone, then say WHY you feel that way. That's the "lifting up" part! ;) Also...if you want to name more than one person, make a new post for each. That way, no one gets lost in the crowd. :D

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And I would like to start by saying how much I appreciate Adam! (That Wysocki dude, don't'cha know!)
    A few months ago, I embarked on a personal research venture, and while doing so, I went through literally thousands of archived posts of Adam's, looking for all the instances of specific help he's offered to folks here. In the end, I finished with over 300 pages (Word doc) of material that was nothing but Q&A with Adam. This did not include any of the off-topic banter, and didn't include any of the newer posts he's made in the last few months. It was eye-opening, to say the least!
    These are the things I KNOW about Adam...
    --He is truly passionate about ball pythons. Not just interested in them, or even merely fascinated with them. Truly, heart-deep passionate.
    --He'd rather help another human being than build himself up.
    --He truly cares about this site and this community...not for any profit it may bring him, but because of the help that it offers to all ball-python and herp enthusiasts.
    --He cares more for the animals than for profit.
    --Once a friend, always a friend.
    --He is honest, honorable, and completely straight-forward. There are few businessmen in this (or ANY) industry that I would be as happy to do business with.
    Adam has freely offered countless hours of his time to help out anyone here who needs it....anyone willing to listen and learn, he gives himself to....without expecting a single thing in return. When life and work take him away from the site for any extended period....his absence is felt!
    So....here's to you, my friend. :carouse: Thank you....for all that you do for BP.net.
    Great idea, Judy! I could say a few more things about Adam, but wouldn't want his head to swell... :giggle:
    Instead, I'll dedicate my post of appreciation to BECKY!
    -Becky has encouraged me in all my endeavors, and is always willing to give advice, even when I call her late at night freaking out about something.
    -She has come up with the best rodent feed, and even hauled a huge bag of lab block to my house!
    -She is definitely a true friend, someone I feel I am so lucky to have in my life. She is kind, caring, generous, knowledgable, very cool to hang out with, easy to talk to, and loves to shop! What could be better?
    -She's taught me to pop, probe, feel follicles, and I expect to learn a lot more from her about breeding as that progresses for both of us.
    There just aren't enough nice words in this world to describe Becky. I love ya, girl!
    Re: Lift Somebody UP Today!
    What an awesome idea Judy! I have to say that I completely agree with your assessment of Adam.
    Adam was the first person who really reached out a hand to me when I was a scared and nervous new owner with a sick snake (Kashmire had internal parasites and regurged his first meal for me).
    I was so worried, I had no idea at the time that the ball python bug would hit me as hard as it has, and figured Kashmire was my one and only. When I asked Adam "what if he dies?" His response was - "he's not going to die and if he does, I'll send you one for free". Wow! I didn't even get Kashmire, and I didn't know Adam from Adam (excuse the pun) and that offer right there showed me the kind of guy he is!
    Not only has he been a trusted breeder, he's become a dear friend to me.
    There are so many people to name, I'm afraid to, for fear I'd leave someone out. But I'll attempt to.
    Joanna for being a wonderful friend and confidant.
    Judy for being a wonderful leader and friend.
    Becky, Emily, Christie - for all the fun girl chats on AIM, even though you got me started on the "getting more" ball pythons a little over a year ago - horrible influences.
    Kara - for being Kara with a heart bigger than Texas!
    The mod staff - for their friendship.
    Jamie - for being "MY" ass and a wonderful friend.
    Vaughn - for remembering me when Sophie was born and offering her to me, and for answering countless questions for me!
    And anyone I've not mentioned, it wasn't intentional - there are too many friendships made here to possibly name them all! :love:
    Edit - I can't follow directions, apparently :oops: . I need to go back and write something for each person when I have more time - which is a good thing!
    WOW Judy ... First, what a fantastic idea!!! ... In my opinion, the fact that you create a thread like this and I stuggle to figure out who I want to post about first is a testament to how amazing Bp.Net really is.
    Second ... STOP IT!!! ... Thank you soooo much, but STOP IT. :P ... All I do is try and give back to a community that has given me so much ... I love ball pythons and I love this site ... doing what I do is easy and gives me great pleasure.
    Now ... my turn.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    I have a bunch of these to write up, but I want to start out by saying that I appreciate the coolest father/daughter breeding team in the world ... Neil and Alyssa.
    You guys inspire me to do better and work harder .... In a business sometimes smeared with all kinds of politics and drama (many people have NO IDEA about the BS that goes on "behind the scenes"), the excitement that I have for you guys as you get started with mutations and breeding can not be measured. Every time I see a post updating the site with the status of your breeding projects or your collection, all of that other "noise" is suddenly gone and I'm instantly reminded of what it feels like to just love these animals.
    Neil, I always enjoy your phone calls and hearing about the progress you're making ... and I'm positive that one day I'll probably be working for Alyssa cleaning cages :sweeet: ... Alyssa, I have a feeling that your destined for great things in the future! Never forget the way this feels right now.
    Thank you guys ... you both ROCK and I wish you both nothing but the greatest success!
    I would have to say Cue (Chris)
    - He took the time to help talk me through building my first rack, both on the phone and over PM.
    - He also helped me out with making sure everything in my incubator was workin just right for my eggs.
    I also want to pat Mendel's Ball on the back
    - He comes up with some awsome posts on anything from information scientific articles on different species of herp to acctually explaining different aspects of mendelian genetics.
    Vaughn (kavmon) .... For anyone that doesn't know it, Vaughn is the man. I don't think that there is a more down to earth guy or selfless person in the universe.
    The analogoy that I always give for Vaughn is that he's the kind of guy that you can call at 3am to say that you're stuck on the side of the road and the first words out of his mouth would be "I'm on my way".
    He's one of the best friends that I've ever had and I owe him more than he will ever know.
    Thank you Vaughn for inviting me to Bp.Net many years ago, for believing in me when no one else even knew who I was, and for always being there.
    Re: Lift Somebody UP Today!
    One of the greatest unsung heroes of BP.net is Smulkin. Matt has been fully dedicated to BP.net from the days we first took over the site years ago. Through thick and thin, no matter what, he has been there nursing the site along...upgrading...troubleshooting...constantly working to ensure it is always open and available and offering the very best to our community.
    Matt isn't as publicly visible as he'd like to be these last many months due to an increasingly demanding "real life" work load...but despite that, he is still there behind the scenes making sure everything is working and running smoothly. He's always available if something breaks, and always makes it a priority to get everything back into tip-top shape, no matter how busy he is.
    This site would not be where it is today....heck, it might not even be here at all...were it not for Matt's constant and consistent dedication.
    :salute: Luv ya, partner!
    Two of the best breeders on this site ....
    Tim Bailey and Evan Jamison.
    You guys are an inspiration .... if anyone wants an example of a couple of ball python breeders that are doing it right, these are the guys. Amazing animals, integrity, giving back to the ball python community ... Tim and Evan have it all covered. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an animal from either of these guys site unseen nor would I have a problem sending any of my own customers to either of these fantastic breeders.
    Thank you both for helping me believe that with a lot of passion and a ton of hard work you can be successful in this hobby/business without being a dirt bag. I know that you are both destined for great futures and I'm grateful for knowing both of you.
    Re: Lift Somebody UP Today!
    I just want to say thanks to Jo, Robin, and Deborah.
    Jo always has something positive to say, and never fails to offer solid advice whenever she can.
    Robin has been a great mod, is always willing to help, and shows how much she really loves these snakes.
    Deborah is always there for anyone that needs help with their snake. You just know that she cares deeply for the well-being of these creatures and will offer advice to anyone that asks.
    All three of these lovely ladies often help out on another forum that caters to more inexperienced people and have probably saved the lives or improved the lives of many, many snakes.
    Thanks ladies! :sweeet:
    Re: Lift Somebody UP Today!
    I am a big fan of the positive and a NOT a big fan of negativity so this is great thread!
    I'd like to start by thanking Adam, whom I haven't had the pleasure of meeting or purchasing a snake from yet (wait till summer)but when I emailed him for advice(yesterday) he quickly responded giving me excellent and friendly experienced information and actually thanked me for reaching out to him! When actually I am the one who is thankful that he took time out of his busy day to help me with a scratch your head situation. This is not the first time he gave me expert advice (he has responded to posts many times) but the first time I emailed him directly and I was helped immediately. I enjoy helping others and Adam is a great example to follow!
    Next I'd like to thank Mendel's Balls (that don't sound right LOL). He always has great detailed genetic info to share and his posts are always informative and helpful.
    Last but not least I would like to thank one of our newest member's Jon Dvoretz fron Next World Exoctics. Jon sold me my first morph (Pastel) and since many other great snakes. When I was just starting out (and now) he took all my calls has always given me the best advice( listened to my stupid questions) even if it was buying snakes from someone else (my albino's and ghost) and is down right friendly and sincere! Last year in the beginning of breeding season he sold me a spider he produced when the prices were still much higher (gave me a good deal at the time), when I saw him in Daytona, my wife was shocked how much the prices had dropped. Jon felt bad and told me he would give me a deal on my next snake.(He didn't have to). I was looking for a ghost in Daytona(he didn't have one) and he advised me on a deal I found from Mike Wilbanks and told me to jump on it and to trust Mike (good deals make me leary). A month later I took him up on his offer and he sold me a cinny for a song (OK there was $ involved, not much). He has always been a good friend and his advice has always been helpful, honest and insightful. I know everyone will enjoy having him onboard! :sunny:
    I would like to send out my dedication to Stangs. It seems to me that Justin has put in countless hours of research and tried to learn as much as possible about these wonderful creatures. At a young age, when others his age have no focus or hobby, Justin is striving to be an asset to the community. I believe he will turn out to be a great breeder and keeper in the future. Keep up the good work Justin, time will fly by and you'll have a collection that rivals many on this site.
    I want to thank Adam, Tim Bailey, and Chris(cue)
    Adam it is a great thing that a big timer like yourself still steps in here daily to help out and answer simple questions. I also love that you stick up for the little guys here. You do great things here to bring the bp.net community together. You have helped me a ton through PM's and thank you. Thanks!
    Tim, you are the one who inspired me to breed once I saw all your beautiful animals. You have helped a ton with all my questions no matter what. You opened up your home for me to come and see everything you had.
    Chris, you were the one who put the het albino female in my hands. My first morph(I would say) and the snake that will start me off. You waited patiently for months while Matt Graybeal played with my order and held onto the snake while I was waiting for my thermostat. Thanks again bro!
    A great big thank you goes to Bp.net membership. This place runs and lives due to your participation!
    Extra thanks goes to all those experienced individuals(and everyone else) who take time out of their busy lives to share their knowledge with the new comers.
    Last but not least, kudos to the mod team who do a wonderful job of keeping things running smoothly. We'll be in limbo without you guys!
    Re: Lift Somebody UP Today!
    OK.. where to start.
    1st. BPNET: I'd like to say thank you to the whole community, for all the combined support, knowledge, and humor. You have made me a better herper mom. TRUE! Meeting some of you.. Chris, Tim, Mon, Mike, Judy, Sarah, Becky, etc.. was a real treat! And I am inspired by you all!
    2nd. Rapture: For introducing me to this sight, and putting an end to me saying "What? are you crazy?? It's just a Ball Python" ! :oops: I had no clue what wonderful snakes these were... My wish list USED to consist of all Boas... I now have a new list. (But I Still LOVE my Boas)!!! So, in essence... it's all your fault.
    3rd. Cue: For all the Cueisums.... countless sprays of coffee at my monitor, helping me get my first official "set of balls"... ;) Answering 1,000 newb questions. And the endless rack jokes! :rolleyes: NICE, THANKS, and That's HOT...... And most importantly, caring, not only about snakes... but about people too. you are one of the most genuine people I've ever met.
    Last but NOT LEAST. ECLARK: Ed has been an untappable source of knowledge to me. Through PM's and phone calls... he has walked me through things as minute as Sticky Frog temps, to a panicked phone call over eggs and incubator... Every time I have thanked him, he replies with.. "If you need help, just call. Even if it's 3 am"...
    Thank you ED! :sunny: Again for being a "life line" !
    Dang, I didn't read the instructions either.... :oops: oooops!
    I would like to thank my wife. Who hates snakes loves mice and rats and still allows me to go forward with my dream of breeding and having umpteen hundred different morphs. With out her I'd be struggling to get dressed. Even thought she'll never read this..Thanks babe and I love you.
    Kara has been a kind, supportive person from the get-go during my BP learning and purchasing process. Not only have I learned from her, but she's been a great friend to boot :)
    Whether it's making me dinner and apple pie (yum!), taking me out to lunch, playing with herps or chatting and having girl-time--she's always thoughtful, confident and a really good listener!
    Thank you Kara, for being SO awesome :sunny:
    I also want to thank all the members of BP.net.
    Many of you have been a support, a resource for information, and generally caring friends :) I'm realitively new in the grand scheme of things, but this close-knit community was willing to let me in and embrace me. For doing that, I just want to say thank you--for being the wonderful people that you are.
    Excellent idea! There are so many people and I can't name them all (well I could but my job expects me to actually do a small amount of work daily).
    Adam - I was just looking back through emails to find an old one and I came across a bunch from the time when I first decided that I wanted to be part of the Ball Python world. Before I had even spent a penny with Adam, him and I had exchanged close to 30 emails and I gained countless amounts of knowledge. Since then he has become one of my best friends and a person I would trust with my life (hopefully we won't ever have to test that one out!) but probably not my girlfriend :D. What you see is what you get with him and that is a very rare thing in a world full of phoneys.
    Charlie - Charlie is a helluva person and is going to be a force in this business. We talk daily and I consider him a good friend!
    Robin/Jo - Robin and Jo have always been there to listen to me gripe (and its pretty often). They are both good friends and people of real character.
    The entire admin/mod staff - You guys do an amazing job keeping this site up and running and providing a place for us to come and share information, awesome pictures and meet new friends. Judy is the anchor of this site and a wonderful person and great friend!!
    Very cool thread! me likes!
    I'd like to thank Smulkin for turning this site from harsh one into a community. I cannot tell you guys how much I have learned from this site. Think of all of the countless reptiles you have saved! So many people have learned how to properly care for their pets from all the information and contributions to bpnet. Being a reptile lover like the rest of you, this means more to me then you could imagine.
    I would also like to thank the moderator team. I have never found a site like this and I dont think I ever will again. You guys keep things family oriented and friendly. You keep it a place where people aren't afraid to ask questions. You guys rock!
    A big shout out to Adam for contributing countless hours to helping people on this site. Most people who acheive such success arent so willing and open to share their methods. He truely cares for reptiles and it shows!
    Thanks Adam!
    I'd also like to thank Smynx. She lent me her ear way back when and helped me through a rough spot. You need to prod her to get on more often Smulkin!
    Thanks everybody! for making this site the place it is today!
    Oh what a wonderful thread Jude! So I'll start with you....
    Judy - for your faith and all the work you put into this site, for your wonderful spirit and the fact that you make me proud of us women here.
    Robin - the person on BPNet I most want to actually meet, for becoming a real friend and the phone calls that share life, laughs, troubles and all that good stuff.
    Adam - for being who you are and leading the way for so many of us, for sharing your passion and for always being there for so many of us. For caring about my son and that just plain touches my heart.
    Jamie - what can I say, you are perhaps the most unique person I've met here, you aren't afraid to go your own way and that empowers others. You are also the only person to date to actually phone me from Home Depot for directions to the hardware cloth LOL.
    Chris - for being a sweet and very funny guy, for caring so much about Mikey and my family, for all your help so freely given and your joy in others happiness.
    Becky & Christie - for being part of the chick chats, for teaching me so much about southern women (lord but I want an accent like that!). For being friends and wonderful people who really care.
    Tim, Bill, Vaughn - every one of you guys inspires me, makes me believe in my own dreams for our collection and in the ability to do this the right way. You are all gentlemen in the true meaning of that word and I'm very proud to be associated with any place the three of you are at.
    Aleesha - you have a spirit that simply shines through. Thank you for sharing that unique spirit here.
    Kara - for simply being Kara, real, warm spirited, sharing so much with this community. Helping so many of us realize our dreams and define them through the glory of your snakes and the joy of your personality.
    I feel like this is a speech and I've forgotten to acknowledge so many but I'll save them for the next post in this lovely thread. :)
    Re: Lift Somebody UP Today!
    Well since everyone else is breaking the rule and putting multiple people in a post, I will too. I'm such a follower! :D
    When I first joined, with my poor little Trey-Emily going downhill so quickly, Jamie, Jo and Becky were right there, IM'ing with me and helping out so much. I know Emily wouldn't be here today if it weren't for ya'll. I've already thanked Becky so much that she just giggles at me now, but Jamie and Jo deserve all of my gratitude as well.
    Of course Adam has been there for me and Jeff both, he is such an awesome guy. Can't wait to meet you in Daytona!
    Kim, you deserve a total crowd surf lift-up. You help out so many people, and you are a GREAT friend. Anytime I find a hot pair of shoes, I think of my partner in fetish! And your weight loss support idea is FABULOUS, and giving me tons of inspiration.
    And I could never forget Chris. He also put the first morph I ever held in my hands. He has patiently walked around shows with me, explained genetics to me, introduced me to good people, and he's pretty easy on the eyes! :blowkiss:
    And of course, Judy...You are so patient with me! I loved meeting you, and I have nothing but respect for all you do. I'm glad you don't hold a grudge for how vocally outspoken I can be sometimes.
    Thanks for the kind words Jo! I would have still been wandering around HD without your help!
    Some more folks that I want to lift up:
    Sheree, Nancy and Jody - for helping me, whether you ladies knew it or not, to be a better, more understanding mom to my oldest daughter. This means the world to me and I thank you more than I can really express. I wouldn't have thought a snake forum could possibly reach out into my life this way but it has due mostly to you three.
    Sarah - for the unswerving dedication you showed to Trey/Emily. Anything we did on the forum was only in support of your determination to see this lovely little snake survive and thrive.
    Marshall - to you and the other young herpers here who really strive to go beyond the stereotypical teenage snake owner. You make me incredibly proud that this site supports our younger herpers and you are the best example of being responsible, knowledgeable and caring. You make me wish I'd started much, much younger and I look forward to the years ahead for you in this hobby.
    Sarah, for being my twin in so many ways :) I feel like I've got a friend in you, and that I can talk to you about just about anything. 'Cause--let's face it--whatever I'm feeling about a situation, that's probably how you'd feel, too ;) And, of course, you're Auryn's biggest fan.
    Miss L, for posting pretty pictures, being a total sweetheart and making me smile all the time. You seem like a genuinely warm soul :) I've got love for you, L!
    Re: Lift Somebody UP Today!
    "Big up yourself" to
    YOU - for being here, contributing, sharing and making this more than just another forum!
    Judy and Raj - for their near-divine capabilities, both technical and inspirational. They alone have given me the comfort of knowing that as my job has changed from allowing a lot of free-time to now pushing ridiculous weekly hour totals that the technical aspects of running the site are in good and capable hands. They have allowed me to "rest assured". I do apologize for my extending absence - a promotion at work has me in knots trying to juggle everything the job entails.
    Judy once again - for keeping me grounded when I am going all third-rail and helping maintain the sanity
    All BPnet staff - past and present (and while we are at it future as well) - it can be 1000x more stressful than any of you imagined when you agreed to do it. That we have so many who are still sticking it out through thick and thin is a testament to their characters and their dedication.
    Smynx - incredible woman who talked me into "inheriting" bpnet and helped me maintain sanity through so much. Working 2 jobs now and so she is a virtual ghost here - she sends her love and cheer and indomitable spirit and smile this way.
    Godfather of course - for having given birth to this beast!!
    Kara - long-time member and contributor on many a level - of course including the many generous prizes for the contests.
    Vomitore - brother in grimness and awesome dude to chat with - EMG hookup man!
    Green Man - thanks again for the very real and generous offer of assistance with content creation. I am sure you will be taken up on that!!
    Thank you to my husband who puts up with my herd and me :love: .
    Thanks to Robin whom I met on another forum and brought me on BP.net, we also got to meet last year at the Atlanta show, and I can tell you she is a real sweet person.
    Thanks to Adam who is an inspiration, and recently gave me the pep talk I needed, that speaks volume!
    Thanks to everyone here who make this forum a big (sometime dysfunctional) family, with whom I can share my passion.
    Smulkin for being my masterful and metal brother in grim and frosted armor. A new found friendship in extreme metal has been forged. ARRRGH!
    Westcoast for the great pets I purchased from him. Especially Abbath.
    Lillyorchid for being kind enough to let me give a lil insight about guys and their thinking.
    Kim for being a redhead. Someone's gotta do it!
    Frankykeno- Jo you are an inspiration to me. Your intelligent responses and level-headed answers to people are great to see on this site. I always love reading your posts and will always continue to look forward to reading them.
    Adam - You are what I strive to achieve in customer service, I only hope to be able to someday to follow in those footsteps.
    Everyone - I love the participation of everyone on this site, I can't wait till the family medical issues are over so I can get back to spending more time on this site. Just remember what made this site what it is, the willingness to welcome everyone with open arms.
    I would like to give my thanks to Robin and Jo, back in the repticzone days when I didn't know all the ins and outs they helped me with some great advice and guidance. They also suggested I come over here, which is now the place I spend most of my free time.
    I've learned a ton of information from all the people on this site and want to thank everyone for that priviledge.
    Evan- For being a great breeder and providing me with Lustro
    Jamie- For keeping it real no matter how heated the discussion
    Mendel- Always love his interesting articles ( Where does he find this stuff )
    Bp.net- There are too many people here I respect to name them all, thanks for letting me be a part of this great place.
    I can't really pick specific people but I would like to thank all the level headed people on this site. I haven't been on here long enough to know what it was like before but there always seems to be some kind of argument somewhere. I don't see the need and personally it makes this seem less like a community. So to all those who manage to keep their cool and to those who answered my pointless noob questions, THANK YOU!! :rockon:
