My Two new babies(Het Pieds)

Yup I finally got them and im so excited!!! as you can tell me and my girlfreind love them to death!!.. I havent had a small Bp in like 12 years when my normal was a baby girl. Me and my girl spent so much money on snake products decorations. Im surprised there wasnt any little shirts for them, We would've gotten them.lol

We had to hold them once before acclimation of there new cages. Heres a couple of pics. Will have more in two weeks.(LOVE THESE GUYS)

Yeah I wanna make this into a little long term project, lets see if I can get a visual to mate with my girl when she gets mature. I might get another girl in the future. yea, i want to work on some projects, but cash is low so im ganna have to go the slow route, im pickin up to het albinos from coldblooded addiction. i think breeding with a visual will def. save some time. but i figured i would get better in the hang of it so i could use some time. plus i wanted an albino really bad and cant afford one lol. good luck :)

I wanted to start on albino hets in the beggining but I was like nah I kind of wanna start in the medium stage of getting into a pricy collection. Im still considering albino hets though. Hey if this helps. Vpi has a 05 female 100% albino het fro $500. Thats a great deal and its someone that you can really trust. There the best breeders out. Right next to clark

ehh i alwready paid most of it...i will get another soon enough though..but ill prob wait till next year an get some visual...what i would love, and is my fav right now is the caramel albino..if i only knew how to make of them..i cant afford that one, maybe if i start saveing i can get one next year...thanx for the help though :) :rockon:

lol. The agreement can be that the visual owner keeps your girl for about 2-4 days.. I will only do this If I got to really know the person and made sure where the bps are gonna be mating at is clean and disease and parasite free.

I have two breeders that wanna work something out with this idea when my girl gets mature

It is a much longer process than just 2-4 days. Research it heavily before even seriously thinking about it. There is a ton that can go wrong and a ton of stuff to work out. Make sure every corner is convered before any animals exchange hands.

As me haveing the feemale, i would be more confortable with it "Going down" at my place, so i know what goes on, and i know its done right, and i can take care of the eventual gravid female which is my own. I have a couple friends that want to get some snakes, hopefully they get them and there at the proper weight when mine is that would work out well. i would never trust anyone i dont really know with my animals...i have a hard time trusting anyone with anything so...lol

Generally with breeding loans it is the person that plugs in the morph or more valuable snake that receives, quarantines, cools, breeds, and then incubates the babies, with the split of the babies being agreed upon by both parties involved. But I'm sure you already know that since you've been "big" in the business for 10 years.

Yes something of this type of deal will be established. Or even a big payoff. But it all depends on the owner. Everyones thats been posting are assuming Im gonna give my het to a breeder that I only met 3 days ago. No!! Thats why Im here. Looking to know and find someone in my area that I can really know for these next two years!!!

I was like wow I would love to take that shortcut to get 2 extra pieds and all hets. Dont want 1 pied and all hets and normals. If I cant find anyone its alright I have no promblem mating them. I plan on buying a extra pair of hets in oct. I love having them there so cute!!! cant wait till my girl gets mature enough to mate

Um...you could get all pieds from a het X het breeding... With the het breeding each egg has a 25% chance of being a homozygous (visual) animal. Each egg COULD be normal, het pied, or pied.... so you could get all normals (which would be pretty bad luck, or falsely labeled het parents), all hets (which will be normal appearing) or all pieds...or a mix of all.

But again, you would know that...

"Um...you could get all pieds from a het X het breeding"..

umm no you cant. what kind of golden chances is that? Ill have a better chance of winning 5 billion dollars then getting all visuals from het n het. The chances are slim when bredding het n het. But if you breed visual n het the chances of getting atleast one pied will be more towards your favor.

Wait hold up!!! first of all out of all this talk about getting homozygous. I still have to prove the 100% het is what the breeder said she was. Then we can talk..lol..But I have a strong feeling she is.

Actually no you don't. If you got that 100% het from a reputable breeder you don't have to "prove" it. Proving a 100% het indicates a less than 100% certainty that the stated genetics are actually what they were said to be IMHO.

Aren't the odds exactly the same when breeding two 100% hets as with breeding one 100% het to a visible animal?

Either you trust your breeder or you don't. 100% het means that it doesn't need "proving out", it means that there's 100% chance that it carries the gene.

So, it sounds like you don't trust who you got them from? Didn't he provide you with the guarantee of genetics?

What? What about the 90 day quarantine that the breeder should insist on doing with any new animal that comes into his collection? I wouldn't be doing a breeding loan with anyone who didn't at least insist on that.

But I don't think it is impossible.

I think what he was saying is that 1 in 4 are the odds. I believe the odds are the save for visual x 100% het and 100% het x 100% het. Even though the average odds are 1 in 4, you could end up with NO visual, or ALL visual or something in between. It IS possible, but not likely (unless the BP gods are smiling down upon you).

Someone (Adam, perhaps?) correct me if I have the wrong idea about the pied x 100% het odds and the 100% het x 100% het odds being equal.

Het x Het = 25% visual / 50% Hets / 25% normals

Actually Adam is correct... You can get ALL VISUALS from a Het x Het breeding, i have seen it too... but it is VERY UNLIKELY... (about as unlikely as finding a morph in a bag of 10 but anything is possible (had to do it lol)

I would have to agree with the other member and disagree with you. It is absolutely possible to get all visuals in a het to het breeding ... I personally know more than a few people that have hit those odds.

You CAN get all visuals from a het to het breeding - and you can also get all 66% possible hets from a het to het breeding.

Each EGG has a 50% chance of being het, 25% chance of being normal and 25% chance of being visual.

To say that it's impossible to get all visuals is not true. The odds are not in your favor, but it's also not impossible.
