No, not really - I knew what to expect, and I see her every day, so I really don't notice the difference until I look back. :)

    LOL at Deborah!

She has mealies available to her at all times, and she also gets 2-3 crickets daily.

I don't think so, but maybe - been so long since I had mice pinks, but I don't know if I'd have the heart to feed them. I think we'll stick to mealies, phoenix, an occassional wax woms and crickets! :)

She is cute, isn't she? :D It's fun seeing her pattern change how she grows. I have no clue "what" she is, I'm hoping she'll have more yellow as she continues to grow, but I love her to pieces no matter how she develops!

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

It's funny, at Daytona, I kept turning Karl way from the leos (mainly because I had studied the care of cresties before we went down, and not leos - so didn't want to impulse buy).

I can't believe how smitten I've become with her (at least she still looks to be a girl based on the sexing photos Emily stickied here! LOL).

    She's a doll!

wowie! she looks AMAZING! awesome growth and her tail looks fabulous--no bulb or weirdness at all! the gray areas with black spots should turn either a darker yellow that her background yellow or an orangey color as she matures--either way she will get brighter with age.

i don't think she's big enough for pinks yet--i never fed pinks to anything but adult females leos to help them recover between clutches and even that was just a few times.

Thanks Emily - you were, afterall the one to make sure I got her set up properly when I "accidentally" brought her home! LOL

Do you think that her tail will "bulb" as she adds more fat to her tail?

If you look close at her, you can definitely see some orange coming through that doesn't show in the pictures, so I bet you're right about the orangey color in the gray areas.

I just love her to pieces, although she only appreciates me for her crickets! LOL

i'm not sure if her tail will get the bulbous look or not as she stores more fat--i've not dealt with a dropped leo tail in person to see the regrowth process. i'd tend to say no, since it isn't coming back that way now but i don't really know for sure.

Which leads me to the next question - what causes a dropped tail in leos?

stress, a bite from a cagemate, fighting with other leos, rough handling, being shipped in the same container with other leos, living in less than ideal conditions with too many geckos in one enclosure, etc. many pet store leos have dropped their tails (or part of it) at some point due to one or a variety of those reasons--it seems easily avoidable but many times they just aren't given much consideration because they are relatively inexpensive, readily available and produced in large numbers. :hmm:
