    Under Appreciated Music
There are so many styles of music out there that just aren't being recognised. For example, I know about 3 people who listen to jazz and under 20 who listen to ska. Some people just won't listen to certain things because they like ONE kind of music and thats good for them. A good amount of music now is complete :cens0r: when we could be seeing so much better stuff if people learned to think for themselves and not buy into every fad that comes along. Try different things every once in a while! Sorry for the rant, it's been bugging me for a while.

I totally agree! I also hate that some people won't listen to music because of stereotypes and self-drawn conclusions. FOr example: one of my favorite bands is Rammstein, who are German. A lot of people I know refuse to listen to them because being German instantly classifies them as "Nazis."

Yeah, like Motorhead and Slayer should be billionaires. And why does anyone listen to KISS? They are even more ridiculous than Chingy.

uhmmm.ok. I don't think they are ridiculous at all. I listen to KISS. As a matter of fact I went to The KISS Farewell concert just a couple of years ago. I love them and think their music is fantastic!

Some bands shouldn't be famous for various reasons but if you're basing your comments on personal preference then it would be unfair to say these things. Some people like certain music and others don't end of story.

BTW KISS had a huge impact on the music scene in the 70's and still have a following today. I listen to them myself.

For me it's all about ear candy. I can't really get into anything too slow or not heavy. Unless it's powerful. But that's how I've always been. I love stuff that's 100 MPH and never lets up. As for most "metal" today, 99.999% of the mainstream is crap. I prefer more underground black metal and death metal. I can respect certain artists, but as for listening to them, I just feel so wrong cause I need the intensity. I listen to metal from the second I get up, to when I'm falling asleep. Hell, I have an MP3 player I wear at work with 1gb of metal.

I'm one of those non-music people. I just rarely listen to music. I listen to audio books almost CONSTANTLY--but music? Not so much.

If I listen to music it's for a purpose:

A> At the gym, needing a little musical BOOST (even then, it's really anything with a good, pumping beat)

B> I want to sing (in which case it's usually Jazz, Showtunes or Evanescance..)

C> I'm in the "mood" to listen to it. And then, it depends on my mood what I listen to. I love traditional Celtic stuff (or not so traditional...like "The Brobdingnagian Bards"), Folky things, Jazz...Anything mellow, really. If I want something hyperactive, I'll listen to "They Might Be Giants" or "DaVinci's Notebook" or "Moxy Fruvous" or some 90's mixes (the stuff I remember from middle school).

    Outside of those scenerios...*shrug*

Which farewell tour? Didn't they have a few? I guess their disco album kinda rocked ;) I'm just messing around. Pantera has been my favorite band since I was 11, and they worshipped KISS. I just think they have always been huge sellouts, all about making more money. To be serious, I think Youngland (punk covers of old school country), MosDef and Talib Kweli deserve more play. I think ska had it's shortlived comeback in the 90's. The music's alright, but those skanker kids really piss me off. I've heard some good Jamaican rap, but also just as much crappy Jamaican rap.

I saw em on the 1996 reunion tour. It was my second concert and I did my own Gene makeup and all of the old fans said I did a better job then Gene. Haha I was stopped atleast 10 times from people asking who did my makeup.
