It's awesome that your mom has changed her mind about snakes. My mom admits that my BP is pretty, but she wouldn't touch him or let him near her when I was home for Spring break. Maybe in time... :)

Also, just a suggestion...it would be a lot easier to read your post if you used a little bit of punctuation.

    Cheers!

well my mom's not gonna changer her views on my snakes anytime soon.although now she goes into my room with no problem, she still checks to make sure they're in their cages and that they havent escaped.

It would be a miracle if ever my grandmother changed. She hates anything without fur. I just got a leo today and she freaked out when I had it out of the cage to show my mom.

Now my mom loves lizards, especially beardies, but she doesn't like snakes. Thankfully she's not the "Oh no, its going to bite me. Its such a horrible creature." kind of person. She actually asked me to take Zim out tonight so she could see it. She won't touch or hold him, but she likes to look at him.

My brother refuses to even be in the same house if I have the snake out. (and he's 18)

That's so cool! I'm glad my mom is pretty willing to try something before she says no for sure. She kinda freaked a bit when she held Lilly for the first time, but when I brought her home my mom kept asking to hold her. :D I'm pretty luck in that even if I wanted something that she really didn't like (aka spiders of any sort) I could have it, she just won't deal with it ^_^

When I got my snake, my grandma was like ewe that's disgusting! Can I touch it? Then she was surprised that it wasn't slimy, but instead, silky. I was so surprised that she had never even touched a snake before. She still won't do more than touch her, even though she think it's got a pretty pattern. At least she's not all about killing it like she used to be.

My mother has come really far... She went from "Shoot it or it will kill ya" to calling me up last night and wanted to know if 92 Degrees was to hot for the hot side of her "Pets" tank....*what pet??* she has been reading this forum and desided to set up a tank for a 5 month old male Ball Python named Jesse. She is picking him up at the shelter tomorrow. i guess he had a vet apt. first for testing. I'm so proud.

    *crys tears of joy* :D

its great when you can change someones opinions on something you love, and they hate. ive tried with my tarantula and my brother but hes a big baby when it comes to any spider. he seriously went to a hotel for the nite because there was a daddy long legs in his room and hes 26. sorry about the long one sentances i write but with puncuation if i sit here and stop to put them in I lose all track of thought on what i was writing about.

thank you all for sharing your experiances.

Haha the whole spider thing wouldn't go over well with my mom (or me actually, but for those who like them...good for you ^_^ ) I don't know about going as far as getting a hotel, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have anything to do with it. It would be kinda funny to see her reaction if I talked about getting one.... hehe

My grandma went from "Get out of my yard" to "Go get Ruby out so she can get some exercise" in a matter of a couple months. Once people get to see the true beauty in them, they usually fall in love

I know you how you feel!

My mom snake-sat for me last weekend because I was going out of town. She went from thinking the same - that Panndor would be slimy and cold and aggressive - to being able to hold and stroke him. She seemed so surprised at first that he was so soft and gentle. It is nice when you can pull someone out of that mindset. A fear of ALL snakes is ingrained in a lot of people from a young age.

it deffanitly is a good feeling to change peoples opinions, and my dad finally stoped callin my ferret a rat and started actually calling her by her name and playing with her so i changed him too. though he still doesnt like the idea of a snake in the house. he is tolerant of my montana
