    Prayers & thoughts please!
My father woke me up this morning around 3am freaking because our dog / his girl friends dog Cinnamon was have some really bad seizers. She has had them since she was a puppy some 5 years ago, and is on meds for them but todays seizers were BAD! She wasn't coming out of them at all. We rushed her to the ER vet and she is there now getting test and such done. My fathers girl friend is claiming she can't afford ER vet prices and she is going to have her put down. My father and I are fighting with her right now trying to convince her that we will help her out with the bills and such since she does live here 3 days a week.

I hope she is okay!!! :(

Here are some pictures and a short video of her that I've taken.

Thanks guys! She now is at her normal vet. Hopefully they won't charge us $986.54 like the ER vet did and they didn't really do to much for her. They just took some blood work (that came back all fine) and heavily sedated her. They sedated her to the point that she didn't know what was going on last night, walking and stumbling around like she was drunk and she was walking in to walls and such. Not cool. My father is pretty mad at them. Doubt we'll ever go back to that ERvet again. Might only be 10 minutes away from us, but the service and the Dr's there are not good at all, and really rude.

God I cant stand a rude vet especially during a stressful emergency like that! OMG I'm glad Cin is seeing a better vet and is hopefully on the path to recovery!

She's doing better. At least she hasn't had any more seizers since she came home last night. I suspect that our vet will just up the dosage of her Phenobarbital in hopes that whatever went hay-wire in her brain to cause her to have all of those seizers will get it all back in order.

Honestly, you want a seizure dog sedated...the more doped up they are, the less likely they are to seize. Plus, a lot of the disorientation afterwards can be secondary to seizing...it really messes them up. :-( If it happens again, put her in a confined safe spot so she can't hurt herself stumbling around...bathroom with a big comforter on the floor, in case she falls...something like that.
I'm glad she's doing better. At least with clean bloodwork, it's likely she's not got any damage from a toxin. Cluster seizures are wicked to treat, so I'm really glad she came out of them! Some dogs we have to put on an IV anesthetic drip for days...you don't even want to know what that costs!
