Banded or Reduced Pattern
I was wondering where I can find some very good examples of banded or reduced pattern. The reason why, I stopped by petco today and as always wandered by their reptile section and they had about 6 or so ball pythons. Eliz, the reptile lady saw me looking and asked if I wanted to hold some, I said sure and picked up a couple when I instantly noticed one that was darker in color and had NO alien markings on its side what so ever. It had the alien heads but without the eyes? If you get what i mean.
I looked at some pictures that I could find and it seems to look more like the banded due to the fact that it had a few alien heads without the eyes. It also had a couple of spots on the back where the stripe is. I can try and get back there and get some pictures :-D
Thanks for any help though

Check out Rabernet's gallery:

She has lots of gorgeous reduced patterns. :D
Re: Banded or Reduced Pattern
The one at the pet store, looks A LOT like Sullivan in Rabernet's gallery. Blushing on the back, alien heads with no eyes. But yeah, no doubting it, the snake I saw (and played with) looks like Sullivan.
I'm going to go back to the pet store tomorrow and see if Eliz is there and will let me take a couple of pictures. I'll make up some excuse to do so, and post em here. If everyone else is as impressed as I am, I may have to figure out a way to get the little guy (or girl) How I'll do that seeing as we low on cash is beyond me, but with RDR proving out reduced patterns/bandeds in 03, I couldn't pass up that chance!

Here's a little banded that I used to own...

If Wild Bill still has him/her maybe he can update us with some new pictures of what it looks like now.

The one at the pet store doesn't have as much pattern going on as that one I dont believe, if i remember correctly. That is a pretty snake though :)

Re: Banded or Reduced Pattern
My girl Bela.. not yet proven genetic. Many BPs out there have a reduced pattern; I am pretty sure you'd have to prove it out through breeding, to show it as a genetic reduced though.

Re: Banded or Reduced Pattern
Some are genetic, and some are not. They are more common than not though, but still awesome!
This is my Velvet project I am working on:

Re: Banded or Reduced Pattern
Looks good, I think I might give it a shot on that banded/reduced pattern though because alot of the pictures I've been seeing, this snake has even less of a pattern. I'll try and get some pictures!

Re: Banded or Reduced Pattern
Here is my reduced girl. She's gravid from pastel male, I hoping to make reduced pastels.

She's CH so let's see if she's genetic, she's got the markers!

Pretzel looks like the one at the store, only maybe one or two more poka dots on her stripon her back.
Also, I'd love to take a look at the offspring of that pastel to the banded/reduced :-D

Thats makes two of us, if the reduced pattern shows up in the pastel offspring I will be using them to make reduced bumblebees (fingers crossed twice).
Re: Banded or Reduced Pattern
I bought a reduced pattern from petco (sorry no digital camera i'm in the stone age i know) he has one faded dark "alien eye" on his whole body with about 3 bands. I have seen a bunch at my local petco in the past few years with reduced patterns. mine had mites but that was about 700 grams ago and 2 years-ish, but he is an awsome snake, great personality, and a killer pattern. good luck with your descision.
