I think it really depends on what you're looking for in a pastel. And both lines will have spectacular examples and not-so-hot examples of the pastel look. As I understand it, Graziani pastels tend to be very bright with tons of blushing....while Nerd lemons tend to be very bright with dark, contrasting black markings, not so much blushing. So, it really just depends on what YOU like.

I read that NERD lemon pastels hold their color well as they age

Yes...I was definitely speaking in very general terms. I've seen examples of both types of traits in both lines of pastels.

No not alot of NERD Lemon pastels hold there color, they do produce great yellow snakes. but you need to pick thru all the average ones and raise up a group of them to get the best ones. I think that can be said about all the pastel lines out there. :sunny:

Thanks for posting the pics of adults! I only always see pics of the young ones and have always wondered how they will mature.

I do understand that you are saying those adults were exceptional adults, but dare to dream

Do you have any pics of less exceptional adults that were striking babies?

This girl was an incredible lemon baby but as a 1000 + gram sub adult is the ugly duckling of all my Lemons, shes from a great bloodline and will be bred to something when the time comes. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...g?t=1174180653

The picture of my ugly duckling female was taken tonite 3/17.
This female was an incredible brite yellow baby, but just dulled out some as she grew. I have been real picky about the pastels that I raise up for breeders and the results are starting to show. I also have been breeding them into orange ghosts and thats what makes screamer pastels!

All of the "lines" produce exceptional pastels and not so exceptional pastels ... the best thing you can do is shop the snake and not the "line" ... buy a snake that you absolutely love and you'll never regret it. ;)

If it helps, here's a pic of some of my holdback pastel girls from this year ... 3 different lines, all pretty similar looking snakes ... the only thing they really have in common is that they're HOT!!! :D

Here's my Graziani. Held it's color very well. Took after his father who held his color very well too.

Just shop around and find the pastel you like the most and don't worry too much about what line it is from. All lines produce exceptional and ugly pastels and every kind in between.

Here is my Bell line male pastel. He's holding his color nicely, and will hopefully produce some killer offspring when I breed him to my nice light normals. A hottie from Jamie Quick and Mighty from Andre @ regal boids. He has even more blushing than my female Graziani pastel.
