    Kinda Grown Attached...
Well i have had this little feeder mouse in my possesion now for about 4 weeks. For some reason my snake doesnt want to eat. So i have been taking care of the mouse... feeding it, giving it water, stuff like that.... Now i dont want to feed my BP with this one. i kinda got attached...

Have any of you ever gotten attached to a feeder and ended up keeping it as a pet??

Heck I have to watch I don't get too attached to our rat feeders. I'm forever finding a "good reason" to keep one or two back. The latest one is a really cute agouti marked female...has this huge agouti colored mark on her butt and with Robin's help I named this young female rat..."Betsy Buttpatch" LOL. Sometimes they are just too unique to feed off. :)

No way, in my eyes they are food not pets.

Not attached to feeders but I like my breeders.

The solution would be to keep him and get a female and start breeding your own mice ;)

Never, but once I had a rat and nobody would eat her so now she is growing up to be a breeder!

The relieving doesn't do it, and I've only had ONE that when she bit me (for the 4th time) did I feed her off...I should have waited for the litter, but I didn't want a whole slew of babies that bit. This one actually came across the entire cage just to take a hunk out of my finger.

Yeah, I have...their names are Scabbers and Peekaboo. Both started out as Baby food, but Baby was in a fast and then when she started eating again, S & P were both too big. They then became the basis of our pets/food colony. Now some of their babies are having ratlets.

And when they die, we'll bawl like babies as we bury them.............

    haha

Guilty as charged - but much relieved when they (I had two of them) died of old age and will never keep another mouse as a pet again - very stinky!

But after an extended fast with my first ball python, I didn't have the heart to feed them off.
