I love him... We'll see how the enclosure works out. If it turns out to be crazy hard to clean I might have to try a more simplistic aproach. I'm not planning on having tons of tanks like this (actually it is my only display type enclosure), so it should work out fine. :)

That's pretty much how it went! First he was hiding behind the foliage, but I moved it for the photo anyway, then he just jumped right out into full view! :) :)

He's thinking "I'm not ready yet, go away... let me get my good face on... almost ready... TA DAAA!!!!!!!!! :sunny: :8:

they have me wrapped pretty tightly around their sticky little toes. one eyeball lick and i'm done for. :P

Yeah I watched him lick both his eyeballs last night. Oh I think he's calming down nicely. I had him out a bit and he was pretty cool with it.

awesome! :gj: he was never too jumpy (some cresteds are just nutty no matter what :P) so hopefully the two of you will be chillin' in no time. :D glad to hear he is doing well!

Cuteness! What color is he when he darkens up?

he doesn't get really dark but his background color is a fairly bright orange and his dorsal area is a lighter almost yellow. kinda like a bicolor. he also has these neat little almost greenish splotchy spots on his sides--got those from his dad. :)

sorry rapture--had to answer. i just can't help myself when it comes to cresteds. :D

I can't WAIT to see him in person !!!!! :D

well get to it! he's had plenty of time to settle and i'm sure he's accepting visitors by now! :P

No prob... I think this is why I said he was more colorful when I first took him out of the box... looks like he had more oranges on him. :)

I haven't seen him really dark yet.

Word. My boyfriend met him last night. ;)

if you want to get him fired up for you do the following:
- wait until after dark
- feed him
- mist down the cage
- turn out the lights
- come back in 5-10 minutes

ching! brightly colored crested. :P you can skip the feeding part if you want but i find that sometimes brings out even brighter colors than if you don't feed, especially if it's crickets you are feeding--get's them all excited. :)
