    Hypo Green Anaconda
Just got this girl in today... This is the one snake that I will honestly say, pics do NOTHING. This girl is brighter than my sunfire retics, haha. Only one side swipe, and I'm not bleeding yet, so I'll see if she is workable after I get a meal or two in her.

Wow she looks awesome. Is that a proven genetic trait?

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
I know of one other person that has one... Hasn't been proven yet in Greens though, as far as I know. If this girl doesn't prove, her offspring are going to be rediculously nice either way! Thanks!

I am all about Hypo Anery Greens! The problem with that is, my Anery is a female and so is the hypo... Just add a few more years onto the project, and we'll see what we can do! haha. And remember shelby, if you breed those granites, I want one someday as well! haha.

    Thanks!

Well I've got a similar problem since both of my granites are male.. lol. My female yellow is still too young to breed.. maybe next year?

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
Well, I've had males get dirty with males before!:8: Well, if you ever wanna let go of one of those males, you know exactly who to look for!:carrot: How old/big is your female yellow? And actually, how old/big are those granites? Good luck if you try and get some next year, I'll be in the side lines routin' for ya!!!!:carrot:

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
My female yellow is about 2 1/2 years old I believe..

The one granite is a year and a half, and the other is a proven breeder.. not sure how old he is but he's in the 6-7' range.

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
Oh yeah, I'm sure you can get your female going next season, especially with a proven breeder male. There are occurances where the female isn't ready (like what's happening with my Marble yellow) at that time, but a lot of them tend to breed with no problems. Would love to see some granites in the mix though! I have a friend that has a Patternless Yellow that I think he is hoping to breed this season or next as well. So hopefully in the next couple of years, we can see some new Yellow stuff pop up agian!:carrot:

Yep, it's suppose to be dom/codom, but I'm not 100% on that. Here is a link to the page on my old website.

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
Agreed! I'm not sure why they would be called patternless either, some still have pattern, but hey, reduced at least, haha. I'm pretty sure it was proven out by someone in the UK.

    Thanks!

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
Well it does look similar to the patternless (green) burm.. in a way. I wonder if it's a similar gene mutation. It's interesting anyway.. I wonder if it's co-dom what the super would be like.

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
Huh, that's weird, I was actually just about to edit my last post and throw that in there. The did find it to be the same as the "Green" gene. It'd be awesome if it did prove to be co-dom as well! Hopefully in a few years, we'll know!

That's actually my girlfriend... She loves these things just as much as I do, for some reason her favorites are always the mean ones.:weirdface She might or might not calm down, she isn't crazy yet, but we'll see after she gets accumulated a little bit...:8:

    Re: Hypo Green Anaconda
Nope, the hypos would be the only aggressive ones in my collection. All of my other Greens and Yellows we free handle without any worries at all. I mean don't get me wrong, we might get the once a year bite from a couple, but it's on a rare occasion and typically related to seasonal changes from what we have noted.

My one and only conda happens to be very gentle, EXCEPT at feeding time, of course. When I bought her she was 6' and 6# and was VERY mean. It turns out that the conditions she was kept in with the previous owner were not to her comfort and that is why she bit him every day. Since I have brought her home with me, not a single bite and the guy won't believe me. Now she is 7' and about 10# and I doubt that she'll bite me at this point. :carrot:

Cool.. I hope mine eventually figure out I'm not going to eat them. The female yellow is the worst, and my big male yellow is the best.. but they all will do the sideswipe bite. LOL little stinkers..

It is very nice to get exceptions like that! If you can find one that with some handling and proper caging will calm it down and get it to trust you more, all the more to ya!:salute: Especially at that size, it's good to hear that even after 6' you could still get it to calm down for you.

Unfortunately, that isn't a very common occurance with condas :8: It's almost like once it tastes your blood the first time, you automatically become part of its diet.:8: But hey, it's always worth a try on getting larger condas to be more on the calmer tame side.:sunny:
