Pardon me, but I am extremely excited... my WC female that I got about 6 months ago finally ate for me for the first time today! I am very excited, she's an awesome looking snake, and I thought I was getting pretty close to losing her. She's been looking absolutely horrible, but I hope today was the turning point for this girl! :D

I just sent an e-mail over to VPI thanking for them for their awesome advice about this subject that is provided in their new book! Without this, I am not sure how much longer she would have survived.

That's awesome Rapture!! I'm really thrilled for ya! What were the steps you took that seemed to get her eating again?

I'd love to know also since my boy has yet to eat since last August and now looks pretty bad. I'm going to follow with what Becky told me to do, but if that fails maybe the steps you took will get him eating again.

When I first got the snake, I was mixing a lot of good information and bad information about getting WC animals to feed, and nothing I tried seemed to work. I tried mice, rats, and a gerbil.

The main difference between what I was doing and what VPI suggested was that I was using live prey and VPI suggested pre-killed. I set her up in a quiet area, waited a week, and placed a freshly killed small rat in her tub. A couple hours later, she ate it. That was it. Surprised the hell out of me, after all that time that she would not eat.
