Think Something's Happening in Ohio
Brannagh as of this afternoon. She shed about 4 or 5 days ago (have to check my records). She's had the male Malachi in with her numerous times and actually shed with him in there this last rotation. She's been off fed for awhile now but I was told this is perfectly normal during breeding activities. Last week right after she shed and Mal went back to his own enclosure she did slam down a rat though (I had read to keep offering even if they refuse).
She's 3,000 plus grams - our cheap-o scale tops out at that weight and she's maxed it out as of last week. She feels, well I'm not sure how to describe it but hard? stiff? more taunt? (does any of this make any sense to you experienced breeders). Her tail looks funny and tiny to me.
Well see what you think....

I think I will pace around some more. I can't say I'm enjoying this first breeding year. It's exciting for sure but I hate not knowing how this whole process really works (reading about it does not cut it with me). Trying real hard to not phone every experienced breeder I know and babble endlessly about this stuff.
Anyone want to fly to Ohio and hold my hand for awhile? :sigh2:
Re: Think Something's Happening in Ohio
Oh Jo! I'll hold your hand (virtually) :giggle: She looks plump to me. The only think I can tell you is keep an egg box ready and a hawk's eye on her...;) Good luck!

I'd start firing up that incubator and getting it ready Jo. If you need any help, just shoot me a call. I can lend you the gram scale I have. It's max is 7,000 grams, so it might help out a little.

She looks very "glowy" to me!! Keeping all my crossable bits crossed for ya! :snake: Wish I could be more help, though! Feel free to give me a hollar if you need to vent, even if I don't have anything educational to say on the matter, I can at least be a good sounding board for ya. ;)
Re: Think Something's Happening in Ohio
Patience my dear grasshopper, all good things come to those who wait and it looks like the stork is on the way! :carrot:

He sold a snake to a friend of mine back in 03 which I now own and would love to ask some questions. Thanks for the quick response. :)
