They eat the worms as you or I would slurp up a clam on a half shell.:P they also will eat live guppies in a small clear glass fish bowl. they are very small when born, but grow quickly and will switch over to rodents. all my adults eat rats. :zerb:

Those are awesome, Ed! I have never seen an albino before; catching and releasing the wild ones around here, I often wondered what an albino would look like. :)

My son just bought a male Albino Checkered Garter about two weeks ago at the Hamburg Reptile Show. There was only one there and my son paid $55.00 for it. To much in my opinion, but he loved it and he had his own $$ to spend. I talked with a friend of mine who said that he's seen them go for as little as $25.00. As Ed mentioned, it depends on the time of the year ........ supply and demand I guess.

They are VERY nice in coloration and their pattern. We've been feeding our's Rosie Red feeder fish and day old pinkies. He really hammers the crap out of both.

As for handling, well for now it acts just like a young snake ....... spastic! It is nice because it's diurnal and you can enjoy seeing it out during the day.
