Never done that so I'm not sure. If you bought 50 lbs of bran from a feed store, you woul be able to run a colony for like $5 a year!! lol

what eats roaches? i know my geckos wont touch the mealies when theyve turned to roaches same with my bullfrog and salamander.

I raised meal worms at one point because we were feeding some abandoned baby bluebirds. We kept some of them in the fridge because it keeps them from turning into the beetles.

The only things I have found that will eat the beatles of the mealies are some wild birds, rats, and monitors will some times. The roaches are a whole nother colony/species.
