    just a simple answer!
Is it just me or do any of you have a problem getting your spouse...significant other...whatever, to just give an answer! I mean...I ask what do you want for dinner? That is a SIMPLE question! Why does it always have to be...well, what do YOU want or YOU think of something! I mean don't get me wrong...I do like that he will let me pick these things (as I know some men are just :cens0r:) but I don't always want to choose! Lord knows if it isn't what he wants he will say "let's go blah blah blah instead." of course I just yell and say too BAD! lol. but geesh...just a simple answer is all that is needed!

He just wants to make you happy. Being indecisive is his was of saying, "whatever makes you happy is what I want."

Remember, a happy wife is a happy life.

Ok...fine! I admit I'm one of those "whatever you want is fine" kinda girl. But then again I will basically eat pretty much anything!:devilish:

Have you ever gotten one of these though???

Spouse- "So where would you like to go for dinner?"

    Me-" Mmmmmm.....Mexican, duh!!!"

Spouse- "Why do we always have to get what you want? Why can't we ever go where I want to go?" (Please remember you can enter in the fword where EVER you like in this last statement)

I completely understand your pain Melissa! My husband is the EXACT same way. I'm exhausted from making every freakin decision for myself and two other people, and it'd be nice if I didn't have to make every single one for him too (when he gets home). Also when he gets home from work he can mostly relax, whereas my workload has just increased.

Of course, I've realized that I ask him loaded questions, and if doesn't spit out what I want to here he's gettin in trouble. Does this make me look fat? Doesn't matter how he tries to answer that one ... he's up the creek without a paddle.

Lol being a guy what do you want to eat is usually easy steak seafood mexican italian, chinesse I'll eat most anything. The other side of the coin is why are we always eating steak wouldn't you like somthing else shure but you asked what I wanted to eat if I had wanted to eat say chicken or a salad I would have picked that if you want to eat those things fine buy them you can eat what you like I'll eat what I like.AT least in our case these conversations happen in the grocery store AS for stright answers or not I know most of the time it's just eaiser to let jo deciede what she wants to eat as I don't really mind and if we go out to dinner it's usually because I would like to treat her to a nice meal that one of us isn't cooking since i cook for a living anyone else doing it is fine by me and just letting her pick saves time and arguments. I don't know about others but I personally like peace and happyniess and usually if the wife is happy I am too upset woman can make life heck for days so the less upset women in my life the better lol.

It's not that I don't like what I am gonna hear...I would just like to hear something! like an answer..."honey what do you want for dinner?" "chiken would be great!" see that is REAL EASY. lol.

o that would be a conversation between me and him in MY DREAMS! lol.

LOL that is so funny... Went out with a couple friend of mine last weekend and they got into a FIGHT because the chick wouldn't speak her mind about anything. So they gave each other the cold shoulder, he refused to eat dinner, and they went home early. Fun night, really. :disbelief

My SO uses the "whatever" line, only its different up here I think.
its hard fo me to explain...if I ask him, what do you want, he'll say whatever. if I give a choice, he's either pick one, or tell me again whatever.

Yeah I hate that. if I ask you a question you can at least supply me with an answer.

ya know the funniest one thing though. I'll hold up like 3 colors of yarn for a project and ask him, "which ones match best?"
he gets a dead air stare on his face, andafter a few seconds tells me "why do you even bother?"

sometimes I do it just so I can get his goat a little

lmao Here's one for you----I was asking for help choosing colors for our wedding...we paid and planned it ourselves....and he said whatever you want is fine. TEN YEARS+ (WTF?!??) later, and he's b****ing about the colors I had chosen! And THEN denies the entire conversation!  :stab:

But as for food---he'd eat anything. But like Christi's hubby, he'd come home from work and relax, while I still fixed dinner after caring for R all day long, all that after my having worked the night before.

Sometimes ladies, we just can't win for losing. But they are (occas. ) good for some things.

I swear if I could outlaw one word in the english language it would be "whatever". From Mike or the kids, that's a word guaranteed to make me go nuts in short order. I'm like you Melissa, I'd rather have a response and an opinion or choice stated (even if I don't agree with it) than the "whatever" or "you decide" option. I swear they only do this to us to make it our choice and responsibility so they have an out to complain about it later....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

AHHHH!!!! See, I can relate to all of these stories!!! lol. The "whatever" word gets me going ALL The time! When he says whatever I always tell him..."well, if you don't care then neither do I!" Last night he was saying that he just wants me to be happy and I was like "well if you do than just give me a flippin answer! Cause if you "don't care" neither do I!" I guess I make a big deal about dinner cause it is like the one time a day that we can all sit down all together and talk. so I just would like some input.

O and so when I finally got an answer he was like "ok...hot dogs and french fries" I said "No...we are ordering subs!" lol. I wasn't being mean I just couldn't handle hot dogs last night since we just had the daang things a couple days ago. lol.

    and subs it was....:D

Sometimes we just need a smack in the head to bring us back down to the female side if the planet. Or you could ask in the nude, always gets attention, even during a football game (unless it's the playoffs or you got $ riding)

Haven't you ladies heard of planning meals TOGETHER and going to the grocery TOGETHER?;) Then the question is already answered, except for who is cooking what. I guess I'm a little different than most, having extensive cooking experience. So what would you ladies like for dinner?:)
