    Where to get fake plants?
For those of you who have cresties: where do you reccommend getting fake plants? All of my local pet stores only stock this big ugly bendy-stick thing and nothing else.

some people just get dollar store type fake plants but i don't like those because the leaves are stiff but still flimsy (not sure how that works), don't clean as well and the vines that the leaves are on are just straight--they don't keep their shape when you bend them.

i always order mine online from petsmart: http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2030049&Ne=2. for some reason they are half as much on their site as in their store, and that's the cheapest i've found them anywhere online. even with shipping you save from what you would pay in the store. i don't get it, but i usually stock up and buy a bunch at a time whenever i need more.

maybe i'm too picky but i MUCH prefer the flukers vines to anything else for crested cages and for wrapping around any kind of vine or perch. i usually get the pathos--nice big green leaves (the ivy leaves are too small i think), and the boys don't have to worry about pink or purple accents on their leaves. :P

Try some of these exo terra plastic plants with suction cups, around here (jersey) they cost $2.49 each and my cresties love them and they are easy to clean. :) http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...g?t=1173149934

Be careful with some of the dollar store plants, as the ones with wires are not sturdy and the wire can become exposed.

And thats why I like the all plastic exo terra plants, and so easy to clean. just dunk them in a bucket of hot soapy water with a small shot of bleach in it. rinse off in sink or tub and your good to go! :P

i actually got a few of those exo terra plastic plants for my leachie enclosure. it will be a mix of the flukers vines wrapped around perches and the plastic plants as kind of a background. we'll see how he likes it. and he does need easily cleaned plants as his poo is BIG. :P

I use dollar store plants for years, I dont buy ones at pet stores, rip off, $6-8 for a little bag of not much. None of the ones I have, are made with wires, I wouldnt reccomend those ones either, never seen them before. Mine are all plastic, work great and save alot of money.

just fyi, the petsmart vines that i linked to are $4.50 for 6-8 feet of vine, depending on which plant type you choose. the one i get is 7 feet and i cut them in half and use half in each adult crested enclosure. you could use the whole thing in one adult enclosure for some pretty heavy foliage if you wanted, but trust me, it would be more than enough. :)

Thanks! Maybe if I order one, I could cut it and give Al the BP a little extra foliage! :)
