    Starting-up breeders..
I am just curious as to the plans of other breeders who are just starting up, as I am. what are you attempting to produce this year? What are your plans for next year, and for the not-so-distant future?
    This year I am breeding:
    Pastel x Normal
    Pastel x Normal 2
    Normal x Normal
I hope to hatch out, you guessed it, Pastels and Normals. :) I will then keep two Pastel females and maybe a few normal girls, and sell the rest online. Some of the normals, I will sell them through my friend's pet store along with proper caging, caresheets, etc.
For 2008, I plan on breeding my 3 normal females to my Spider male.. then holding a Spider female back for later breeding.. 2009 my het albinos should be ready to go.. super pastels.. bees.. later, albino spiders? :)..
    So how about you?

Lucky nothing I owe it all to my dad and wife and all my great friends here. Thanks guys.

With out dad the money would have run short.
Without Carrie (my loving ever supportive "snake hateing" wife) I wouldn't be able to have so many snakes in the house.

This year I'm doing Cinnies, Lemon Pastels, Super Pastels, and hopefully Pewters.

Next year I'll be trying for more Pewters, Sterling Pastels, Pieds, Pastel Het. Pied, and Albinos... and hopefully a few more combos depending on what I pick up this year. ;)

    Currently:

het ghost x normal (2) : more or less for the experience than the thought of ghosts

I may toss my het albino male in with one of the normals as a "backup" but again more or less for experience and so he can "learn" what to do LOL

Next year or later with current stock:

    het albino x het albino
    pastel x normal (multiple)
    YB x normal (multiple)
    YB x YB
may include het ghost male in future breeding but currently do not have het female so he could be retired or sold/traded.

    Poss het pied x normal
    Poss het pied x normal

The females were sold to me as normals, anyway, and the males are brothers from a pied x het pairing. I am really thinking one of them should have the gene, if not both, right? I mean they are brothers and all, if one isn't hopefully the other is. hopefully. Still, I need to get the first clutch, raise the females....we all know the story

....no ball python eggs for me this year......but I have a feeling that I will be getting a few eggs of some four legged herps very soon ;)

Next year it will probably be an assortment: normal ball pythons, coastal carpet pythons, rainbow boas (hypo project...no eggs to deal with there though), Storr's goannas, Red Ackies.....and maybe some Children's pythons if they learn how to eat regularly :D

    Re: Starting-up breeders..
if they were the offspring of pied x het pied then the clutch would consist of half pieds and half het pieds....at least that's how a punnet square fugures it. Where do you get Poss het pied?

    Next Season 07-08

VPI Pastel Male X Normal Female #1
Cinny Male X Normal Female #1

VPI Pastel Male X Normal Female #2
Cinny Male X Normal Female #2

    Male Blusher X Female Blusher
    Cinny X Female Blusher

    And if up to size:
VPI Pastel Male X Lemon Pastel Female
    Cinny X Lemon Pastel Female

So I'm looking at VPI pastels, Cinnies, hopefully blushers prove out to be something cool, and of course normals. And if the Lemon pastel girl is up to size possibility of supers or pewters.

I'm not going to push any of my girls to get up to size in my time, they will get up to size on their own time. I'll just help by feeding them. LOL:P

    Should be fun!

    Good luck on everyones projects!

Wow!! You guys have some graet projects going on! Here's mine:

    This year:

    SpiderXNormF1
CinnyXNormF1 (hoping for both in the same clutch).

PinXNormF2 (I should have eggs in less than 2 weeks)

Het AlbinoXPoss Het Albino (should have eggs in 3-4 weeks)

    Near Future:

    PinXGraziani Pastel
    Graziani PastelXGraziani Pastel

    Graziani PastelXCinny

    Graziani PastelXSpider
    PinXSpider
AlbinoXSpider (if I do end up hatching out an Albino this year)

    Lots of morphsXNormals!

And a couple others that may or may not happen.

For right now, I just can't wait to get eggs and have them hatch out! Even if all three clutches this year are all normals, I'll still be happy (not as happy as I would be if all three clutches were all morphs, but I'd still be happy).

Anyway, good luck with all of those projects guys!!

For me it's all about normals,

I just wanna see my HUGE incubator filled and get the excitement of not knowing what is about to hatch.

"Real" bredding will take place in 2008/2009 - when I have enough experience to deal with fancy morphs...

Last year I did the het pied x normals
    This year:
    spider x normals
    spider x pastel
    cinny x normals
    cinny x cinny
    het pied x het pied
    het pied x Phet pied
pastel x pastel(possibly, I'm breeding both the spider and the pastel to her)
    pastel x normals
I'm pretty sure I've seen at least ovulations. I'm equally sure I could have missed more.

    Re: Starting-up breeders..
I have only been breeding normals for the past three years, cause 1.haven't got the money to buy any morphs, 2. want to get experience before taking on the more valuable morphs. This year I'm hoping to get some pastels, (at least a pair) from my two females being bred right now with a friend's pastel male. The next two-three years should get alot better, though cause my het albino girl will be ready, and then a friend had a het pied male that may be breeding size next year. So, in 2008 I hope to breed:
    pastel x normal
    het pied x normal
    normal x normal

    in 2009:
    pastel x pastel
    het pied x normal
    het albino x het albino
    pastel x normal
Hopefull by this year. I'll have also generated enough income from babies to be able to fit a spider in there somewhere.
