What a nice suprise!!!
I had checked on one of my females this morning and I noticed she was extremely hissy which is very unusual, she was also laying in a weird position. I was in the snake room about an hour ago and noticed a very strange noise comeing from her tub, so I opened it and the first thing I hear was another hiss. I looked even closer and I saw that she was laying eggs!!!!! So I guess she just started and so far there are 3 eggs, 1 egg looks ok but the other 2 are about the size of a large peanut (with shell). Ill get some more pics once shes done laying, if I only get one egg from her ill still be super excited about it.:carrot::carrot:

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
congrats on the "egg" so far
-
Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Awesome, Aric! Too bad about the peanuts, but hopefully you'll get some more good ones. Who's the lucky dad?
-
Re: What a nice suprise!!!
CONGRATS! I hope you get a few more 'good' eggs, and that they do well for you. :gj;
I can understand about the excitement. I was head over heels about the ovulation...

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Make that 4 eggs, one more that looks good!!!!
I showed a pic of her to Ralph Davis and he said she looked like an IMG, not the whole body but her neck area is friggin cool.
The dad is a "normal" possible something else, before I got him from the reptile shop, he was bred to a couple females for them and threw about 5 full stripers and then I got a awsome looking "normal" male with a partial stripe from him.
This is the best pic I have of him, showing his true colors.

Thanks, I know the slugs are no good but I cant get myself to toss them out, I guess when they start to mold ill feel strong enough mentally to toss them then.:)

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Congrats Aric. Hopefully those good eggs will hatch out some awsome babies for you. Aren't eggs eggciting.

Thanks Tim, they are extremely "eggciting" and extremely nerve racking at the same time.
Weve had a not so good week, all started off with our water heater bursting, then all the water ruined the entire carpet in the garage, then my great uncle got put into the ER for salmanela (sp?) from the peanut butter and neumonia (sp?), so when I saw her laying eggs it made me forget about everything else for a while. This has got to be the best hobby in the EVER!!!!

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Congrats! I think watching my snake lay her eggs was more nerve racking than having my son! LOL! This is my first time breeding and I can't wait to see what hatches out! Our snake babies are due to hatch in April! My girl had 8 good eggs and 1 slug, which I incubated as well! Hubby said I was crazy but I couldn't toss it yet. Make sure you post us some pics when they hatch!
:P

Quick update, I threw out the 5 slugs once they started to mold and threw out the egg that felt extremely thin, it turned greener quicker then the slugs. The other 4 look good.:)

after a month in the incubator, there are only two eggs left. :(
I started with
5 slugs, 1 with a very thin shell, 2 with no veins, and two that are still good.

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Wow Aric I hope you hatch those two.

Hopefully they will have an IMG or two in them:P.
The first pic in the thread was while she was laying the eggs, I believe there were 3 eggs when I took the pic.

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Aric, keep us updated on the 2 remaining. Good luck!

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Day number 45 in the bator and still looking good, they are starting to dent and one has a few small yellow spots, my male from last year had a few green spots on his egg before he hatched. Humidity is between 94-98% and temps are an almost steady 89.6.

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
That's great news! Can't wait to see the pics in a couple of weeks.

Re: What a nice suprise!!!
Only a bit more time to wait! Hope your IMGish ball proves out for you! You know we'll be expecting pictures.
