Re: Meet PUPPY
Is he adopted (like from a shelter?)? I know some dogs, who've had bad past experiences with a certain gender can have a negative reaction to that same gender (an adult male in your case :) ). It's just a thought... Though with some time and gentle perserverance, I'm sure he'll love you just fine.

Re: Meet PUPPY
Congrats on that cutie, and we like you Joe, if that's any consolation. :blowkiss:

Re: Meet PUPPY
Oh lordy I grew up around German Shepherds (huge big males) and one little red female Doxie and boy was she a handful LOL. They definitely pick who they like and who they don't, sorry to say, and can be quite protective and nippy. April (the little red hellion) for instance tried to bite a cop giving a family member a speeding ticket....not nice and didn't impress Mr. Policeman at all when the red ball of fury leapt across the driver's seat and tried to eat his hand (which was currently engaged in handing over said speeding ticket).
Personally I'd try to get yours to like you by being the only family member that feeds the pup, takes it outside for walks, gives it treats and so forth. If it piddles on the floor, have some else do the discipline part for now. Once they figure out you do nice stuff for them, they generally start to see you as someone that is okay and part of their "pack".

Re: Meet PUPPY
Cute boy. Since you got him from a breeder I'm assuming he comes from a line with no back problems.
It's good to know you guys had a good night, hope it leads to many! :)

Re: Meet PUPPY
Nope, no problems. we met puppys parents they both looked perfect, any the breeder showed us vet papers on all his dogs so we felt very comfortable with him and his dogs. that was a major concern of ours looking at this breed..
