RIP Noel

It is with mixed emotions that I must report this morning that Noel quietly passed in her sleep last night. One one hand I am heart broken that this little spirit didn't make it, on the other, I'm glad that she is now free at the Rainbow Bridge with a perfect little body to run with no head tilt.

She was doing so well, then last night I noticed she was very listless, I picked her up and her body was cool and I held her close to me to give her warmth and loved on her, but I knew in my heart that she probably would not make it through the night. She wasn't in any pain that I could tell, so the plans were to get up this morning if she made it through the night and see Dr. C for one last time. She spared me having to make that decision, so while I'm sad to see her gone, it wasn't unexpected to me this morning.

On top of that, I woke up with one of those horrible sleep headaches, and I can't seem to shake it.

Thank you to all of you who were her bp.net cheerleaders, your kind words as I struggled to save this little rat meant more than you could ever know!

I'm so sorry Robin.. I've made it a point not to get attached to any of my rats because it's too hard on me if I do.

Awwww! I know she was a trooper with everything she had been thru but now she no longer is having any issues and is probably eye boggling, hopping around, while stealing some other rats food. Be glad she is at peace now.

Oh Robin, I'm so sorry. You did awesome things for her and I'm sure you made her life as happy as it could be.

Awww sweetie I'm so sorry to read of this. I know when we talked last night that she was close to the end and I'm glad for her sake it was quiet and peaceful and saved you the awful decision you faced this morning. You did more for her than most pets, rats or not, ever get and I'm very proud of you hon. I bet Dr. C. will be upset as I know he was really attached to her and tried everything to save her. Yes Jo, I plan to send him a thank you note for all he did and let him know that she did not make it.

aaw robin i'm so sorry noel didn't make it but so happy for her that she got to spend her time with you and experience all the love you gave her. she was truely blessed to have you. (now i'm crying too! :sniff: )

I'm sorry Robin! It is so hard to lose any pet, and you fought so hard for her. I wish you all the best and my prayers are with you!

Oh no! How heartbreaking. :tears: I know it wasn't completely unexpected but it really doesn't make her passing easier. I really was rooting for that little girl. Robin your love and determination to help Noel was inspiring. I'm send love and hugs your way girl. :hug:

Thank you everyone - still missing the little girl this evening. But I am glad that she's in a better place now. She was my first blue hooded girl :(
