    Help! escaped rat!
Hiya, I'm draogn_lova, JLC's daughter. The rat we were feeding to Kissasa has escaped, and Dad's going to be really mad... could you help us with a way to catch it?

let the snake out...just kidding. think like a rat, they will want to stick to the walls and hide, in or under stuff probably near the walls.

How old is the rat? If you sit quietly where you last saw it, it should come back out to you - most of the rats I have are pretty social after they've explored.

thanks. the problem is, we got all sorts of stuff in here though, and we can't find him/her anywhere. hm... well, I don't know the rats age and we scarred the living daylights out of him/her from trying to catch him earlier.

Oh no! Will your mom be home soon so she can help you, without your dad finding out?

No, she knows about the situation, and is probably out with some friends or at a party right now, (she left with a bowl of fruit salad.) but thanks anyways.

Hey guys...thanks for talking with my daughter about this. I'm home now (Had to go to an Officer's Wives meeting). Hubby knows about the rat. If he's terribly upset about it, he didn't seem so by now. Seems to be taking it in stride.

This was/is a totally spastic rat. A very young small rat. Kisasa wasn't interested in eating it today, so I went to fish it out and put it up in our little Ratropolis Hotel for the week...and it just went nuts running and dashing around the tub like CRAZY. It's the first time I haven't been able to just grab a rat, even a nervous/scared one. Kisasa just went into her hide like, "Leave me out of this one!" And then the little bugger jumped over the side of the tub and down behind the piece of furniture its sitting on. Been on the run ever since. Petra almost caught it, but it bit her and she dropped it and it disappeared behind some furniture we can't really move.

I'm gonna set up the little "Hotel" cage with some yummy/smelly food and lots of nice nesting material....and hope it comes out in the night to eat and get comfy. With any luck, I'll find it in the cage when I get up in the morning. Don't know what else to try at this point.
