    Orlah and Malachi
Mike just popped into the BP room to check on the "happy couple" and found Orlah and Malachi like this. :) His tail isn't locked with her yet but it's a definite sign of interest right? Poor fella looks kind of squashed in her ever lovin embrace though LOL.

I'm continuing the warm water misting as Christie suggested and hoping that Malachi has either figured out where his tail end is supposed to go by now or will soon. Orlah did breed and drop eggs last year so perhaps she'll help him along that way.

The closeup one of them is my new desktop wallpaper! :D

Just a couple of questions. They've managed to go under their newspaper on to the plastic bottom of Orlah's enclosure. They are on the cooler end with the newspaper over them. Should I disturb them enough to slip some newspaper under them or just leave them be. My instincts are saying they are fine and leave them be but I thought I better check (okay I'm just a nervous nelly aren't I!!! LOL)

Awesome pictures! I wish you many cutie-bootie babies from those two!

Of course I have no breeding experience...but were I in your shoes, I'd just let them be and let them cuddle under the newspaper. Might make your cleaning day a little less pleasant, but I don't think it'll hurt the snakes. ;)

I saw a large dry urate in there that I'm going to sneak in later and steal but other than that I'll leave them be. Maybe they like the security of being under the newspaper....who am I to judge appropriate snake luvin! LOL

Oh btw I'm titling the close up pic...."LOOK I GOT ME A MAN!" lol (Orlah did look rather pleased with herself I thought). :)

Yeah, I'd leave them too. (me and my newbie breedin self)

I'm new to this but it kinda looks like she's pushing him around a bit. Norbert was always on top with my girl, but again I have no experience with this so am little help. C'mon Malachai and Orlah!

hmmmm ... Leave them ... switch the warm water misting to cool water ... leave the urates and other smells alone while you're pairing them up ... he should be the one on top, not her ... While it's not as bad as laying on opposite ends of the tub, it definitely looks more like dominant behavior than breeding behavior to me.

Are there any red streaks on the paper?

After this pairing, rest them ... feed them if they'll eat ... and the day after feeding pair them up and mist them when you do ... the night before an incoming storm or low pressure system is a perfect time if you can swing it.

If you have another male at breeding size, save a shed or some of his feces and put that in there with them when you pair them up.

    Keep going!!! :D :sweeet:

Nope red streak seen Adam with any of his rotations through the females. I'll switch to cool water misting. We are in the middle of a big 2 day blizzard right now actually. Our other two males are much younger (both being 06's) unfortunately. We'll keep at it. Eventually he's got to figure out that slot A fits into Tab B right? :D

The red streaks are from the hemipenes dragging along the ground, but I know I never saw them due to the recycled newsprint I use. I bet if I used plain newspaper or paper towels they would have popped more.
